Tibet University is the largest comprehensive university in Tibet. It has formed a discipline system covering 10 disciplines, including economics, law, science and technology, and medicine, with 8000 students. Historical evolution

The history of running the school can be traced back to the Tibetan cadre training class in 1951. It has gone through the development stages of the cadre school of the Tibet Military Region, the Tibet local cadre school, the Tibet administrative cadre school, the Tibet normal school (established in 1965) and the Tibet Normal University (established in 1975).

In July 1985, Tibet University was established.

In 1998, he obtained the authorization of master's degree, and the two master's programs of Tibetan language and literature and Tibetan history were officially enrolled in 1999

Since 1999, the art school of Tibet Autonomous Region, the Tibet Medical College, the medical department of Tibet University for Nationalities and the finance and Economics School of Tibet Autonomous Region have been merged into Tibet University.

In September 2001, Tibet University of agriculture and animal husbandry merged with Tibet University, and its name is still Tibet University.
