Cheung Chau Ferry Terminal is the daily external transportation hub of Hong Kong's Cheung Chau Islanders. It is an in port ferry terminal. It is located along the central and western coast of Cheung Chau. To the west is the Cheung Chau typhoon shelter, to the south is the Cheung Chau Public terminal, and to the west is the most prosperous New Waterfront Street in the city center of Cheung Chau. The original Cheung Chau Ferry Terminal is located at the present Xinxing street. It was moved to the present site in the 1970s.
At present, the franchise of Cheung Chau Ferry Terminal is invested by new ferry. There is a ferry service between central ferry terminal and inter islands ferry service to Mui Wo and Ping Chau.
Cheung Chau Ferry Service operated by new world first ferry is divided into two types: express and large vessels. The large ship, commonly known as slow ship, is about one hour one way, with 3-4 floors. Its luxury cabin is set on the top floor and equipped with air conditioning.
Cheung Chau Ferry Terminal accepts payment from octopus, but only luxury seats will issue a receipt. Beverage vending machines are installed in the waiting area of the wharf. The snack shops at the wharf are set up in front of the ferry collection gate, including fried noodles, vermicelli, curry fish Dan, etc. The current laws of Hong Kong stipulate that smoking is prohibited in the dock area and on board.
At present, on ferries, the canteen is self-service, and the old ham, egg, sausage and doll noodles are no longer available. Today, there are only soda and snack vending machines, and only Octopus payments are accepted.
