Swallow mouth

Yanzikou is a precipice of tailuge gorge, in which the precipitous mountain wall and the lingering valley are one of the famous scenic spots along the Zhongheng line. On the rock wall on the right side of the road, due to the long-term erosion of limestone by the stream, the soft rock strata gradually form caves, and swallows build nests in these natural caves. In the early years, swiftlets and foreign swallows often foraged in groups in the air, forming a spectacle of "hundred swallows singing Valley", thus winning the reputation of "swallow mouth".

Yanzikou refers to the spectacular view of numerous small caves on the cliff of dalichi Canyon, about 500 meters away from Jin Heng Park on Zhongheng highway. The formation of these landscapes is due to the metamorphic limestone on the cliff. The flowing water erodes along the limestone rock and finally forms many small caves. Over time, the swallows in the valley build nests and live in them, forming the wonder of "hundred swallows singing Valley", which is also named swallow mouth.

Today, the swallow swarm has been startled away by the sound of cars and human tracks, leaving only empty nests. However, the steep rocks and cold mountain wind here leave a deep impression on tourists.

1. National Highway No.5: from national highway No.1 Zhongshan high to Xizhi system interchange, turn to national highway No.5 Beiyi expressway, cross Xueshan tunnel, drive from su'ao interchange to Taiwan No.9 direction, turn table line 8, and reach Yanzikou after passing Baisha bridge.

2. National Highway No.5: from national highway No.3 (second high) to Nangang system interchange, turn to national highway No.5 (Beiyi Expressway), cross Xueshan tunnel, drive from su'ao interchange to Taiwan No.9 direction, turn table line 8, and then cross Baisha bridge to Yanzikou.
