Dai long bridge

Built in the Wanli period of Ming Dynasty, Dailong bridge is the largest of the 15 ancient bridges in Huangyao and the landmark of the ancient town. It is made of bluestone slab and consists of two arch bridges. The arch bridge is half moon shaped and crosses the small Pearl River in the east of Xinxing street.

The Dai long bridge is not an ornament. In addition to being used for pedestrians, the stone slabs linked with waist shaped iron blocks on the bridge deck can also be used for flood diversion. Therefore, the Huangyao calendar is still well preserved for thousands of years. On the right bank of dailongqiao is Jianlong temple. When you are tired, you can rest on the stone bench. There are many strange rocks on the side of the bridge. If you have sharp eyes, you may as well look for them. The tortoise, camel and giant snake are all vivid and have their own legends.

The beautiful scenery here has attracted many shots and painters. The film "veil" was shot here. If you want to take a picture of the beautiful scenery of the dragon bridge, you must be in the early morning, when the water is as flat as a mirror, the sunrise slants on the ancient bridge.

The largest stepped stone arch bridge among the 15 ancient bridges. It was built in the third year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty and rebuilt in the 23rd year of Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty (1759). The bridge is 22m long and 3M wide, with two arches, one large and one small. The large arch is 3.2m above the water surface, with a diameter of about 5.6m; the small arch is a dry arch, 2.55m above the ground, with a diameter of about 3M.

At ordinary times, the river flows through the large arch, and during the flood period, the small arch plays the role of flood diversion. The bridge deck is all paved with local thick stone slabs, and special iron Mao interlocking is used between the stone slabs to connect the bridge deck firmly and flatly into a whole, so as to balance the neutral position and fall on the bridge arch, and prevent the stone slabs from separating to both sides for a long time. The bridge is still as strong as ever since it was rebuilt.
