The Oriental Foundation is now a part of Macao's historic city. It has two floors. The top floor was destroyed by typhoon. The entrance has Spanish style steps for direct access. Now the interior has been transformed into exhibition space, and the flower bed in front of the house has been changed into a pool. The layout of this residence has created a precedent for Macao's garden style residence.

The Oriental Foundation (in Portuguese: fundaccedil; atilde; ooriente), headquartered in Lisbon, Portugal, is an institution for promoting the study of Portuguese history and culture and promoting cooperation with the local community. The foundation was established in 1986 and has offices in Goa, Macao and East Timor, India. The Macao Office of the foundation is mainly involved in the management of the Oriental Portuguese Society and Macao Portuguese school. It also supports Portuguese people and communities living all over the world to strengthen their ties with each other. The office is located in one of the buildings of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage "Macao historical city".

The foundation's office in Goa is mainly involved in supporting local Portuguese teaching and promoting cultural exchanges between Portugal and India.

The Oriental Foundation also awards scholarships every year to students from the Far East to study in Portugal, and to Portuguese students to study local languages in the Far East. In addition, there is a "literature center" in Lisbon, which focuses on the collection of documents and books on the history of East Asia and Portuguese expansion in the East. The center is the place with the richest collection of Sinological materials in Portugal.
