Daza Temple

Daza temple is a Gelu sect (yellow Religion) temple, which combines the architectural characteristics of the Han and Tibetan Nationalities. There is a library and exhibition hall in the temple. There are a lot of ancient scriptures in the library. Nearby Tibetans can be seen by the pagoda outside the main hall. They turn the pagoda to pray piously, and Tibetans come to worship Buddha to kowtow. Climbing to the top of the back yard of Daza temple, you can have a panoramic view of Zoige county. The scenery is most beautiful at sunset and dusk.

Dazha temple has been opened to the outside world. The temple has a special commentator who can introduce the buildings and cultural relics one by one in standard Putonghua and English, providing convenience for tourists to directly and easily understand the mysterious religious culture.

It is worth mentioning that the two living Buddhas in the temple also keep some sika deer in the temple. They are not afraid of people, and some of them have a big temper. If they are not happy, they will kick people. So as soon as you see that they are not happy, just run away.

Daza Temple

Daza temple, fully known as "Daza Temple auspicious good law Temple", is located in the north east of the county, about 500 meters away from Zoige hotel. It is a Gelug (yellow) sect temple.

Human history

Dazha temple was first built in the 11th year of raojishui rabbit, that is, the second year of Kangxi (1663). It was presided over and created by the first Dazha living Buddha Quji maolanglunzhu. It has a history of 338 years, and has experienced the hosting and development of the seventh living Buddha.

In 1663, Daza temple was just a retreat, with only a dozen monks living for a long time.

In 1829, the fourteenth year of raojianiu, the ninth year of Daoguang in the Qing Dynasty, the fourth Dazha living Buddha, luosangdanzengjiacuo, moved the temple from the intersection of Heihe River and Rehe River to the present site with his brother sorangzhaxi at the age of 27, built the Sutra hall, Zunsheng Buddha's mother hall, etc., and created the upper Tantric temple.

Many statues of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas in the hall were made by the fourth living Buddha himself.

The monks in the temple strictly abide by the commandments and refine all kinds of Buddhism. Yoga monks emerge in large numbers, known as Shengle Vajra Dojo by the Buddhist community, is a holy land for religious people to worship. There are more and more monks, more and more temples, and many Dharma associations, which have played a certain role in promoting local culture and education, traditional science and technology.

The sixth living Buddha, Dazha living Buddha, gesangji meidan Beijia Zen master, is famous in Tibet because of his high practice, careful thinking and reasoning, and access to various classics. In 1956, he was granted the "xiaerwaquji" Buddha position by Drepung temple in Tibet.

The temple has set up "three zacang", namely three colleges (Wensi college, Mizong college and Shilun College).

There are many Dharma festivals in Daza temple. The famous first month prayer Dharma association is called "morangmu" in Tibetan. During this period, there are Dharma associations such as sun drying Buddha, watching butter flower and turning Maitreya. In April, there is "Niang Nai Fa Hui", that is, the closed fast Fa Hui.

During the Dharma Assembly, all the monks will be closed for 16 days, specializing in Guanyin and memorizing the six character mantra.

In July, there will be a debate meeting (saying Festival), October randeng Dharma meeting, December disaster Dharma meeting and King dance Dharma meeting.

architectural style

The architectural style of the temple is unique. It has both the traditional Tibetan architectural style and the Han Wu architectural style. The two are combined into one, and the scale is magnificent.

The main buildings are the Sutra Hall of the three zacangs, the living Buddha's bedroom, the Tibetan medicine clinic of the temple, the zongkaba hall, the Huzhu hall, the rhinoceros armor Dharma protection hall, the Shilun tower, the Bodhi tower, the Zunsheng tower, the demon descending tower, and the Buddhist temple and the Buddhist conversion room where the monks live.

In addition to many statues of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, there are also precious classics such as Prajna Sutra copied by Jinzhi, statues of Buddhas with a history of more than 3000 years, bones of eminent monks (Tibetan Alphabet) and stone tablets with the hand print of the sixth living Buddha.
