Zecha Stone Forest

Zecha stone forest is located about 50km southeast of Luqu County, with a total length of 10km. The mountain is towering and steep. The stone forest stands in the scenic area, with lush natural forest farms and gurgling water. Many murals of King Gesar can be seen on the stone walls along the way. There are many Tibetan villages on the hillside, where most Tibetans can't speak Putonghua.

The main scenic spots include "the blue sky line", "the spirit ape looking at the moon", "Tang Monk master and apprentice", "camel peak", etc. they are both divine and lifelike, and each scenic spot is permeated with the legend of the Tibetan hero King Gesar.

Development history

Zecha stone forest is located in the south of Taohe River, Luqu County, Gannan Prefecture, at an altitude of 3250 meters. The total length of the scenic spot is 22 kilometers, covering an area of 20000 hectares. The highest altitude is 4300 meters, and the lowest altitude is 2900 meters. It is a large-area wollastonite forest formed by the rise of orogeny, erosion by flowing water, wind and rain. Demon peak stands in various shapes and is famous for its "danger, preciseness and strangeness". The main scenic spots include "blue sky line", "spirit ape looking at the moon", "Tang Monk master and apprentice" and "camel peak". They are both divine and lifelike, and each scenic spot is permeated with the legend of Tibetan hero King Gesar. According to historical records, the Tang and the Tibetan had once formed a league here in history. It was also one of the ancient battlefields where the remnant allied forces of Ye Mengyuan fought at the end of the 13th century.

After years of wind and rain erosion and water erosion, it has formed different kinds of strange peaks and stones. From a distance, it looks like a rock forest, with monkeys peeping at the moon, old ladies, generals, monks and stones. There is a line of sky near the stone gate, which is nearly 100 meters long, between the stone peaks. It is only wide for a pack animal to pass by. The gurgling water passes through the stone gate. There is a wooden plank road of 100 meters inside the stone gate for tourists to go in and out. It is the only way to enter the stone forest.

The stone forest of zecha, with its unique shape and beautiful scenery, is characterized by the beauty of Emei, the danger of Huashan, the majesty of Mount Tai and the wonder of Huangshan. It can be compared with the stone forest of Kunming and Jiuzhai in Sichuan. This is a large area of wollastonite forest formed by water erosion and wind and rain denudation after the uplift of orogenic block. There are a large number of paleo marine fossils in the peak and cave of zecha stone forest. In the hearts of the Tibetan people, every peak in zechashilin is closely related to the story of King Gesar, the hero of the Tibetan people.

On the South Bank of the Taohe River, the Chashi forest is located in the south, with green mountains and rivers, exotic flowers and herbs, and rare birds and animals. From a distance, we can see the towering stone walls constitute a natural barrier, which is magnificent and dangerous. At the foot of the stone forest, you can see a stone gorge roaring open, and the Chahe river rushing out of it. It is said that this "yixiantian" is the only way to enter the stone forest, which is split by the sword of Gesar, the hero of Tibetan epic. Today, there are still horseshoe marks on the stone wall, which is said to be the work of Gesar's mount. There are three stone gates in zecha Stone Forest scenic area. The first stone gate is "yixiantian". The more you go in, the more dangerous it is. The more strange the scenery is. There are still places where people haven't arrived.

In August 1998, zecha Gahai was listed as a national nature reserve by the State Council.

1) If you don't have a private car, you can take the bus from Lanzhou to Hezuo at Lanzhou south bus station to Hezuo City, the capital of Gannan Prefecture, about 3.5 hours' drive. Then you can take the bus from Hezuo to Luqu at Hezuo south bus station to reach Luqu, about 1 hour's drive. Then you can take the minibus from Luqu to zecha Shilin scenic spot at the square of Luqu County, about 40 minutes' drive minute. The ticket price of the van to the scenic spot is generally 10 yuan per person, and the collective can bargain with the driver.
