Historical evolution

The origin of the predecessor

Hubei College of traditional Chinese Medicine

In May 1954, with the approval of Hubei Provincial Culture and Education Commission, Hubei traditional Chinese medicine school was established.

On January 8, 1959, Hubei College of traditional Chinese medicine was established on the basis of Hubei advanced education school and affiliated outpatient service.

On April 13, 1964, it was renamed Hubei College of traditional Chinese medicine.

In 1978, the school started postgraduate education.

In 1993, the University started doctoral education.

 

Hubei Institute of drug control

In September 1939, the provincial nursing school was established.

From November 1939 to may 1943, it was renamed Hubei Provincial senior nursing school.

From May 1943 to October 1944, it was renamed as senior nursing school attached to provincial medical college.

From November 1944 to October 1952, it was renamed as provincial medical college and attached to the higher medical vocational college.

From October 1952 to December 1958, it was renamed Wuchang health school.

From December 1958 to March 1972, it was renamed Wuchang Institute for drug control.

In March 1983, it was renamed as Hubei Provincial cadre training school for drug control.

In September 1983, it was renamed Hubei drug control college.

 

Merge and rename

On June 23, 2003, with the consent of the Ministry of education of the people's Republic of China, the people's Government of Hubei Province decided to merge Hubei College of traditional Chinese medicine and Hubei College of drug control to establish a new Hubei College of traditional Chinese medicine.

In 2007, the University was approved as a postdoctoral research mobile station.

In November 2009, the University was awarded the title of "excellent unit in the 10th anniversary of the construction of modern science and technology industrial base of traditional Chinese medicine of the Ministry of science and technology of the people's Republic of China".

 

On March 18, 2010, the Ministry of Education approved the renaming of Hubei University of traditional Chinese medicine as Hubei University of traditional Chinese medicine.

 

In January 2018, it entered the ranks of "domestic first-class discipline construction universities" in Hubei Province, and TCM was selected as "domestic first-class discipline construction discipline";

 

In June, the Hubei Provincial People's government and the State Administration of traditional Chinese medicine signed an agreement to jointly build Hubei University of traditional Chinese medicine.

Teaching and practice base

As of September 2017, the university has 26 teaching hospitals, 39 practice hospitals, 29 teaching bases and 40 cooperative practice sites.
