Located in Jiefang North Road, Heping District, Tianjin, it is the first foreign hotel in China. The hotel was built in 1863, which is a British classical building with brick and wood structure. At first it was a bungalow, then it was gradually rebuilt and expanded into two buildings. The Treaty of Denmark in China (1863) and the Treaty of Holland in China (1863) were signed here. The hotel is the first unit to use telephone and telegraph equipment in China.
