Wanshilian Temple

Wanshilian temple is located in the middle of Shishan mountain in the eastern suburb of Xiamen City, Fujian Province. It is said that it was first built in the Tang Dynasty. After many times of expansion and reconstruction, it was rebuilt twice during the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty and the period of the Republic of China.

The origin of history

Wanshilian temple is located in the middle of Shishan mountain in the eastern suburb of Xiamen City, Fujian Province. The morning fog is vast and the scenery is wonderful. It has the reputation of "dawn fog on lion mountain". It is said that it was first built in the Tang Dynasty. It was destroyed in the past dynasties and expanded and rebuilt in the late Ming Dynasty. It was rebuilt during the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, rebuilt by master Huiquan during the period of the Republic of China, and rebuilt in 1984 by master Hongchuan of Singapore.

Details

Although the scale of wanshilian temple is small, it is exquisite and unique. The hall is exquisite and the pavilions are scattered, so it is called "wanshilian Temple". In the temple, there is the main hall, behind which there are "Gongdelin" and "nianfo hall". The dragon group relief on the stone steps in front of the hall is very exquisite. Inside and outside the temple, there are many inscriptions. The poet Huang riji praised it: "Lujiang is a famous temple, and ten thousand stones are the most famous.". In front of the gate of wanshilian temple, there is a half moon pool formed by natural rocks. In spring rain, the spring flows into the pool, passes through the gaps in the rocks, and flows into the deep valley. The sound of the water is like the music of gushao. Li Rizhang's title is "water singing Shao".

From the left side of the main hall, there is a cave gate. Beside the memorial hall of master Huiquan, there is a "tingcha stone". On the stone, there are ancient banyans with dragon whiskers and flat stones. Breeze blowing, ear stick stone, you can hear the rustling sound. On the top of wanshiyan, there is a stone inscription of "wanhu Chaotian". Under the rock, there is a deep valley and a flowing spring. There is a unique cave, which is called "XiaoTaoYuan". There is also the "elephant trunk peak", which was inscribed by Li Zhang in the Yongzheng period (1723-1735). In front of the peak is the stone carving of "suoyun". It is said that Zheng Chenggong killed Zheng Lian in 1650. Around the wanshiyan reservoir at Yanlu, there is a botanical garden with beautiful scenery of lakes and mountains. Spring meandering, through the valley, the valley rock rugged, valley rock hole, is a fun place. The ancients called it "little Taoyuan". Engraved with the word "Yuwen", it means the story of the fisherman asking for money in Taohuayuan. Here is really "a clear sand for the road, ten thousand orifices Linglong stone for the sky". The mountain spring flows out of the "little peach garden" and becomes a clear and green stream.
