In 1951, the Soochow University Alumni Association in Taiwan promoted the reconstruction of Soochow University in Taiwan. However, due to legal restrictions, Soochow Tutorial school was first set up in Hankou Street, Taipei by borrowing a house. It was temporarily located in Hankou Street, Taipei. At that time, there were three subjects of law and politics, business accounting and English, and one subject of comparative law. It was limited to two-year college students. In July 1954, due to its remarkable achievements, the "Ministry of education" of the Taiwan authorities approved the establishment of the Law School of Soochow University, with four departments of law, politics, economics and accounting, and a department of foreign languages attached, becoming the first private university in Taiwan. In March 1958, he moved to the new school site of waishuangxi in the suburb of Taipei. In 1969, it was granted permission to resume the full university system, and then gradually set up various departments and colleges. Now it has become a comprehensive university with 22 departments in five colleges including literature, science, law, business and foreign languages. At present, except Shuangxi campus, Soochow University has a city campus in Guiyang street, Taipei city. After decades of hard work, Soochow University has become a well-known comprehensive university in Taiwan. Its law department is well-known and is considered one of the best law schools in Taiwan. Interestingly, the English name of Soochow University is Soochow University, which also has frequent exchanges with Soochow University in mainland China.
