history

In the early morning of September 3, 1973, a private ferry "gaoxue No.2" from Qijin to qianzhen capsized and sank due to overload and mechanical failure, resulting in 25 deaths. The 25 victims were unmarried women who lived in the Qijin Zhongzhou area and worked in the Kaohsiung Export Processing Zone in qianzhen.

In order to mourn the victims and arouse attention to shipping safety, the Kaohsiung Municipal government, in coordination with their families and local people, decided to bury them together between Zhongxing Li and Zhonghe Li, known as "twenty five ladies' tomb", and later moved them to Qijin middle school for the construction of the fourth container storage and transportation center.

On April 28, 2008, also known as the international war day, the Kaohsiung Municipal Government renamed the "Tomb of 25 ladies" as the "memorial park for working women".
