Xinkailiu site

Xinkailiu ancient cultural site, which records the ancient culture of Neolithic Age in China 6000 years ago, is located on the lake hillock 1.5 km east of xinkailiu between daxingkai lake and xiaoxingkai Lake in Mishan County, Heilongjiang Province. The site is 300 meters long from east to west and 80 meters wide from north to south, covering an area of 24000 square meters. In 1972, a total of 280 square meters were excavated, and 32 Neolithic tombs and 10 fishing pits were found. A large number of pottery characterized by fish scale patterns, reticulated patterns and ripples, as well as stone tools, bone vessels and dental horn vessels mainly used for fishing and hunting tools were unearthed. It shows that people made a living by fishing and hunting, especially fishing. The age of the tree ring is 6080 ± 300 years. This is a distinctive site different from other Neolithic cultures at home and abroad. This type of cultural heritage represented by this site is named xinkailiu culture. In 1981, xinkailiu site was announced as a provincial cultural relic protection unit. In 1983, with the approval of the provincial government, a stone tablet of "xinkailiu site" was built at the original site.

There is an exhibition of unearthed cultural relics at xinkailiu site, which attracts a large number of tourists every year.
