On May 1, 1988, it was officially named "Jingxiu Park", which means competing with Langfeng. After being listed as the key construction project of our city in 1987, after two years of large-scale construction, most of the civil engineering projects were completed and put into use at the end of 1989. It combines plant landscaping with garden architecture, integrates science and art, and integrates ancient city culture into the garden. The park is divided into nine functional areas, with 77.5% of green area, 18% of water surface, 1.9% of buildings, 2.6% of roads and squares. There are more than 50000 plants (clumps) planted in the open field, 57 families, 109 genera and 174 species, with an annual visitor volume of one million.

Historical evolution

Jingxiu Park was built as a nursery in 1958. After continuous reconstruction, it was listed as a key construction project in 1987, covering an area of 278 mu, including 46 mu of water surface. On May 1, 1988, it was officially named "Jingxiu Park", which means competing with Langfeng.

In November 1988, a rockery screen wall was built inside the south gate, on which yuzhai was inscribed with the word "Jingxiu". By the end of 1999, most of the civil works had been completed and put into use.

Scenery in the park

In order to facilitate public entertainment and fitness, Jingxiu park will be open to the public free of charge from April 1. Some walls have been removed and replaced by a green belt composed of shrubs. According to the expected idea, after the implementation of free of charge, visitors will not need to buy tickets to enter the park, vehicles will not be allowed to enter (except disabled vehicles), and tourists should store their vehicles in the designated place and enter the park on foot. However, with the four walls being demolished, the park has encountered unprecedented "havoc". The artificial lake was dug and built in 1978 and rebuilt in 1987.
