Twin pagodas of Baosheng Temple

At the foot of the North Mountain in the suburb of qiancang Town, Pingyang. The temple was built in 1126, the first year of Jingkang in the Northern Song Dynasty. There are four pagodas in front of the temple, but there are only two left, only 11.8 meters apart. Each building is about 15 meters high and has five floors on six sides. The top floor is broken, and the Tasha is not seen. It was renovated in the 1980s. When the two towers were built in 1984, a stone tablet was found in the North niche on the second floor of the East Tower. It is known that the tower was built in 965, the third year of emperor Qiande of the Northern Song Dynasty, more than 160 years before it was originally built in Jingkang.

The two towers are dark and simple, with similar appearance. They are all made of brick, 15.16 meters high. It has six sides and five floors. Each floor has a waist eaves and a flat seat. The corner is built with bricks to form octagonal leaning columns. Two columns are hidden between the columns, and the upper bearing capacity is made into three rooms. In the Ming Dynasty, there are statues of Buddha in a pot door like niche. On the top of the column, a corner is laid to make a flower, which is parallel to a bucket of three liters on the forehead of the appendix. On the top of the flower is a Tiao eaves Fang. On the Fang, water chestnut teeth are used to fold the eaves to replace the eaves rafters and flyers. The cornice is round and gentle in outline, stretching and warping at the corner, just like Jiangnan fashion. The platform is of xumizuo type, with a side length of 3.3 meters and a height of 1.75 meters.

During the reign of Weifeng in the Qing Dynasty, the qianqianhui uprising broke out here. Because the uprising peasant army was stationed in the temple, it was burned down by the "baibuhui" armed by the Qing army and the landlords. Only the East and West towers on both sides of the temple gate were safe. Now it is a cultural relic protection unit in Zhejiang Province.
