Xiamen Undersea World was opened to the outside world in January 1998. It has more than 350 kinds of freshwater fish from all continents and oceans in the world, and more than 10000 fish. Xiamen underwater world is located in huangjiadu on the East Bank of Gulangyu Island. It was originally a Gulangyu Park, close to the ferry terminal.

It is located in the former Gulang park to the west of Gulangyu ferry terminal.

Xiamen Undersea World covers an area of 17.5 hectares, with a total construction area of 7500 square meters.
