Yangling, the southern suburb of Chongyi County, is a strong and majestic mountain. There are thirty-six beautiful peaks in the area of more than ten li. Yangling National Forest Park is located in Chongyi County, Jiangxi Province, at the junction of Hunan, Guangdong and Jiangxi provinces. It is 4km away from the county seat, with a total area of 6889.8 hectares. The forest park is located in the subtropical humid monsoon climate zone, with an average temperature of 14.2 ° C, fresh air and 138000 negative oxygen ions per cubic meter. The forest vegetation type is subtropical broad-leaved forest, and the forest coverage rate is 96.8%. Yangling National Forest Park in Jiangxi Province is rich in plant resources, with 4800 mu of virgin forest and 96.8% forest coverage. Most of the subtropical animal and plant populations are distributed, so it is also known as "subtropical animal and plant gene pool". The main tree species in the forest are evergreen broad-leaved forest and coniferous broad-leaved mixed forest, which are distributed vertically. From the foot of the mountain to the top of the mountain, they are evergreen broad-leaved forest, coniferous broad-leaved mixed forest, bamboo forest and Rhododendron shrub forest. According to the preliminary investigation, there are 371 species of woody plants in 87 families, including 13 species of Ginkgo biloba, Metasequoia glyptostroboides, Taiwania flousiana and other national first and second level protected tree species, 63 species of provincial protected tree species, and more than 1500 species of arbor and shrub species. More than 1170 species of specimen tree species in 384 genera of 126 families have been collected, including about 500 species of arbor, 650 species of shrub, and 20 species of bamboo Cinnamomum camphora, Phoebe, Castanopsis fargesii, Quercus and Castanopsis carlesii are the main species. Shrubs include Stephania, WuFan, huangduanmu, Eurya, Podocarpus, Rhododendron and Wuyao, while herbs are more common in grasses and ferns.

Animal resources

There are 1150 species of protected animals in Jiangxi Yangling National Forest Park, including 17 species of national first and second grade rare wild animals such as Tragopan and leopard, 12 species of provincial protected animals and more than 1000 species of insect butterflies. The two species of Pentatomidae collected in the park in 1990 are the first new species found in the world.

In September 2004, Jiangxi Yangling National Forest Park was awarded as "the scenic spot with the highest air anion concentration" by Guinness headquarters of Shanghai world, known as "Jiangnan green treasure house" and "natural oxygen bar".

The first writer village in Jiangxi Province, Yangling writer village, was built in the park.

In December 2006, Jiangxi Yangling National Forest Park was rated as AAAA forest scenic spot by the former State Forestry Administration.

History and Humanities

Yangling, formerly known as Guanyin Mountain. It is said that during the Shaoxing period of the Southern Song Dynasty, a scholar surnamed Zhong went to Beijing with two friends for an examination. Passing through this mountain, I was attracted by its majestic beauty. As a result of reading the Guanyin Sutra, some people in white tucked them in and were enlightened by them: This is a fairyland on earth, and there is no need to travel further. The three scholars felt their words and went all the way. As expected, they won the title of "Guanyin Mountain".

Later, Wang Yangming, a famous Ming Dynasty scholar, philosopher, statesman and strategist, set up the county in memory of Wang Yangming. The original Guanyin temple has been destroyed, and now there is still Guanyin spring.
