Chuanshan Park Park Overview

Chuanshan Park is located in the southern suburbs of Guilin city, with Chuanshan as the axis and covering an area of about 2 square kilometers. It is one of the picturesque parks in Guilin city, with the Ming Dynasty Shoufo Pagoda at the top of the mountain. The Xiaodong River meanders between two mountains, with the mountains reflecting in the river, creating a beautiful scenery. There are moon rocks and rock formations in Chuanshan.

Moon Rock is located on the mountainside, with a cave through the mountain wall, high and clear, like a fairyland in the Moon Palace. Standing in the cave, looking north and south, one can see the winding Li River and infinite scenery. Chuanyan is located at the bottom of the mountain, with a length of more than 500 meters. In addition to stalactites, there are rare transparent crystals such as stone branches and goose tubes inside the cave, making it a karst landform wonder. Chuanyan is the third large karst cave opened in Guilin.

Chuanshan is located on the east bank of Xiaodong River in the southeast of the city center and southwest of Qixing District, 3.5 kilometers away from the city center, with an elevation of 224 meters and a relative height of 94 meters, covering an area of 25.25 hectares. The five peaks of Chuanshan stretch like a rooster, with the west east as the head and tail, the north and south as the two wings, the middle peak as the back, and the moon rock on the west peak, which is exactly the eyes of the rooster. Compared with Guishan across the river, it is like two chickens fighting each other vividly, collectively known as "Douji Mountain". Ming Kongyong once said, "When a clever stone is like a chicken about to fight, its crown is held high and separated by water. I have never seen a red dragon wrapped around its neck, and I dare not cry when killing green mountains. Five peaks stand tall, resembling a pen holder, also known as the "Bijia Mountain". There is a cave on Xifeng, divided into two layers. The lower layer runs north-south, with a height of 9 meters, a width of 13.3 meters, and a length of 31 meters. It resembles a bright moon in the sky, and was called Yueyan or Kongming Mountain in the Song Dynasty, hence the name Kongming Mountain. A poem from the An period of the Ming Dynasty goes: "Through the stones, a round glow shines; on the bright moon, the shadows of trees hang horizontally and diagonally, like the long branches of osmanthus

To the east of Chuanshan lies Baota Mountain. As far back as one million years ago, the two mountains were originally one entity, but the Earth's orogeny separated them. Nowadays, Xiaodong River slowly flows southward between the two mountains, like a belt still tightly binding them together. The rising sun, with its golden radiance, spreads across the mountains, Tashan, and Xiangshan, forming the poetic realm of "Three Mountains Morning Light", giving infinite vitality to the plan of the day.

Chuanshan Park Chuanshan

Chuanshan is located on the east bank of Xiaodong River, with an altitude of 298 meters and a mountain area of 25.25 hectares. It is one of the famous mountains in Guilin and has long been renowned. Legend has it that Chuanshan was the first mountain that General Ma Yuan of Fubo shot through when he "pierced three mountains with one arrow" on Fubo Mountain. There is a hole through the mountain that runs through the north and south, hence the name 'Chuandong', which also means' Chuanshan '. Chuanshan has more than 30 caves of various sizes, with winding peaks shaped like roosters. "The west east is the beginning and end, the north and south are the two wings, and the middle peak is the back." The moon rock on the west peak is the eyes of the rooster, and it is like two chickens fighting against the tower mountain (Guishan) across the river, also known as "Douji Mountain". Located on the east bank of Xiaodong River in the southeast of the city center and southwest of Qixing District, it is 3.5 kilometers away from the city center, with an altitude of 224 meters and a relative height of 94 meters, covering an area of 25.25 hectares. The five peaks of Chuanshan stretch like a rooster, with the west east as the head and tail, the north and south as the two wings, the middle peak as the back, and the moon rock on the west peak, which is exactly the eyes of the rooster. A poem from the An period of the Ming Dynasty goes: "Through the rocks, a round glow shines; on the bright moon, the shadows of trees hang horizontally and diagonally, resembling the length of osmanthus branches." Moon rocks are located on the western peak of Chuanshan Mountain. The moon rock is bright and nearly round, transparent from north to south, and looks like a bright moon hanging high in the distance. The cave is 9 meters high, 31 meters long, 13.3 meters wide, with an area of 412 square meters, and the bottom is 39 meters higher than Xiaodong River. In the fifteenth year of the Jiading reign (1222), Hu, the pacification envoy of the Song Guangxi Economic Strategy, carved the two characters "Yueyan" on the east wall of Nankou. On the east wall of the north entrance, there are three characters "Kongmingshan", so Yueyan is also called "Kongmingdong". There are many hanging stones and Song Ming stone carvings in the cave. There is another rock above the Moon Rock, facing north, with a height of 6 meters, a length of 16 meters, a width of 8 meters, and an area of 128 square meters. The two rocks overlap, with a rock layer about 2 meters thick in the middle. There are iron ladders connecting the east side of the north entrance and the west side of the south entrance. The moon rock is broad and bright, and the name Kongming is very appropriate. The rock bottom and top are particularly flat, suitable for singing and dancing. People come here to enjoy the scenery and entertain the east in a continuous stream.

Chuanshan Park Chuanshan Rock

Chuanshan Rock is a newly opened cave located on the halfway side of Chuanshan Mountain. Most of the caves are in their original style and decorated with light points. The "crystal needles" (also known as stone branches) on the surface of the stalactites in the rock are cone-shaped or branched stone crystals, which take thousands or even tens of thousands of years to form, along with the long glass tube like "goose tube" hanging from the top of the rock. The goose tubes here range from over ten centimeters to over one meter. The cave is full of twists and turns, brilliant and colorful. Each scenery has a different shape composition, including 25 scenic spots such as Shouxing Welcome, Gaoshan Waterfall, Suwu Shepherd, Swan Bay, Shuilian Cave, Ancient Rongping, Pearl Turtle, etc. According to the introduction, the total length of the cave is 1531 meters, the main cave is 348 meters long, 3-5 meters wide, with a maximum width of 30 meters and a maximum height of 30 meters, covering an area of 0.96 hectares. Half of Chuanshan Mountain, located in the middle of the city, is an irregular cave with a total length of 1531 meters. The main cave is 348 meters long and 3-5 meters wide, with a maximum width of 30 meters and a maximum height of 30 meters, covering an area of 0.96 hectares. Formed 34000 years ago and discovered and opened up in 1977, the rock is winding and colorful, with 25 scenic spots including Swan Bay, Water Curtain Cave, Lianxin Stone Shield, Dragon Scale Wall, Ancient Tree Terrace, Curly Stone, Hollow Stone, Diamond Sword, Pearl Turtle, etc. Swan Bay Scenic Area is dotted with rod-shaped stalactites known as "goose tubes" or "stone tubes", ranging in length from tens of centimeters to tens of centimeters, with the longest being over 1 meter. It is seeped out from rock crevices by groundwater rich in calcium carbonate, suspended at the top of the cave. Due to its high concentration and small fissures, it is too suspended to fall. As water evaporates and carbon dioxide overflows, calcium carbonate crystallizes again, repeating the process and gradually forming pipes of varying lengths, crystal clear and empty. The Yixiantian Scenic Area has many stone branches known as "Iceberg Snow Lotus" and "Deep Valley Orchid", some resembling petals, while others resemble fluff, new shoots, or pine needles. There are different explanations for its cause, some say it is the same as the "goose tube", while others say it is caused by the adsorption of rock surface molecules.

Chuanshan Park Moon Rock

Yueyan has a total length of 517 meters and a length of 348 meters. It maintains a normal temperature of around 22 degrees Celsius, warm in winter and cool in summer, and is known as the best place for the scenery of Chuanshan. It is located at the top of the main peak of Chuanshan, behind Chuanshan Rock and Minle Palace, and is a large cave that penetrates from north to south. Its hollow is bright and surrounded by swirling clouds and mist, just like a bright moon hanging in the air, hence it is called Yueyan (also known as Kongmingdong). There are various shapes of stalactites hanging on the top of the cave, and ancient hymns (Song and Ming stone carvings) are engraved on the cave walls. Yueyan is also known as the "rare and magical crystal cave in the world", with its four major features: crystal clear goose tubes, curled stone branches, snow-white transparent crystal stones, and stones blooming with long hair.

Chuanshan Park Tashan

Tashan, also known as Warship Mountain (from a distance, the mountain resembles a ship sailing on the river), is located on the west bank of Xiaodong River, with a relative height of 44 meters and a mountain area of 2.75 hectares. There is the Ming Dynasty Shoufo Pagoda (octagonal seven story, solid brick structure, 13.3 meters high) on the mountain, hence it is called Tashan (Baota Mountain). The shadow of Chuanshan Pagoda "is its reflection with Chuanshan in the river, and is one of the beautiful scenery in Guilin. The reflection of Tashan Mountain is elegant and beautiful, known as the "Tashan Clear Shadow", and is one of the famous old eight scenic spots in Guilin. On the east bank of the Li River and the west bank of the Xiaodong River, facing Chuanshan across the river, with an altitude of 194 meters and a relative height of 44 meters, covering an area of 2.75 hectares. Tashan and Chuanshan were the same mountain body 1 million years ago, after which the crust rose and the groundwater level dropped, and the mountain body was cut and separated into independent peaks. There is a Ming built ancient pagoda on the mountain; 8 corners, 7 floors, solid, brick structure, 13.3 meters high, with Buddha statues embedded in the north, called the Shoufo Pagoda. From a distance, it looks like a screen, and also like a ship sailing on the river, also known as "Warship Mountain"; Upon closer inspection, a stone split out, resembling a divine axe, striking straight from the summit to the ground. Xu Xiake's "Diary of Western Guangdong" said, "If the Qi and Qi are combined, the pavilion stands between them, covered with a fragile and thin layer, and the flying is extraordinary. There are many maple trees at the foot of the mountain, and in autumn, there is a mesmerizing scenery of "Tashan Red Leaves". According to geologists' analysis, as early as 1 million years ago, the two mountains (and Chuanshan) were originally integrated, but were separated by the Earth's orogeny.

Chuanshan Park Mythical stories

After passing Elephant Trunk Hill, there stands a half moon shaped stone mountain on the left bank, called Chuanshan Looking from afar, the cave is like a bright moon shining in the sky, hence it is called Moon Rock Across the river, the water moon cave of Xiangshan shines brightly Up close, it looks like a bright mirror hanging high, set against the backdrop of black stones and green trees, very beautiful There is another touching story in legend! Legend has it that in ancient China, there was a rebellion in southern Xinjiang, and the court sent a veteran to lead troops south and set up camps The leader of the chaotic army, seeing the general's old age, deceived him and deemed him incompetent, but failed to come to an agreement and refused to stop fighting for a long time One day, the two sides were negotiating at the Huanzhu Cave in Fubo Mountain, Guilin. The old general used the pretext of a sword test and cut off the entire stone pillar with one sword. The chaotic soldiers were determined and couldn't help but be shocked, their backs numb, and they quickly asked where their troops were retreating to? The old general casually said, 'Just retreat to the one arrow point.' I immediately agreed to the convenience The old general immediately drew his bow and drew an arrow, shooting through the three major mountains of Chuanshan, Moon Mountain in Taoyuan Village, and Moon Mountain in Yangshuo, all the way to their starting point of rebellion The chaotic troops had no choice but to sign a peace treaty, quickly retreat to their original location, stop fighting, and the border was finally peaceful This is the story circulating in Guilin about General Fubo's arrow piercing through three mountains! Recently, a winding and deep mountain pass has been discovered at the foot of Chuanshan Mountain, and it has been converted into Chuanshan Park along with the Moon Rock area, open to visitors In addition, those two pierced mountains are also seen by tourists as a tourist route.
