Qingshuihai is located 14 kilometers west of Rende Town, XUNDIAN Hui and Yi Autonomous County, Kunming city. It is named after "the depth of water is blue, although it rises after rain, it cannot be muddy and clear". In ancient times, it was also called chehu because of the large family surnamed Che living beside the lake, and it was also called Xihu because it was located in the west of Xundian County. According to records, one night 230 years ago, a strong earthquake occurred in XUNDIAN area. DIHE River gushed out from the crack of the valley, and the surrounding mountains and waters were involved, forming this lake, which sank a village. It is said that trees and houses in the sea can still be seen on sunny days. Qingshuihai is a karst lake with a total catchment area of 33.4 square kilometers and a maximum water depth of 32.8 meters. The lake water is mainly supplied by precipitation and groundwater, and there is no large river inflow. The outlet water flows out to the northeast around Haiwei village on the north bank and turns to the north, which is called Gongshan river. It is the East source of Xiaojiang River and belongs to Jinsha River system. Qingshuihai lake is a long oval shape, about 5 kilometers long from north to South and 1.6 kilometers wide from east to west, covering an area of 7 square kilometers. The lakeshore line is 13.3 km long, and the water storage capacity is 118 million cubic meters. Lake water is the main water source for irrigation in Xundian County. The Shengli canal was excavated in 1956, the tunnel of 2976 meters and the east-west and north main canal were built in 1972, and the farmland of the two dams, Jinsuo and Yangjie, is 5600 mu. In 1979, a hydropower station was built with an installed capacity of 320 kW. Due to the large water consumption for irrigation, the water level of the lake has dropped rapidly. Water diversion and supply project

In order to solve the problem of water shortage in Kunming, Qingshuihai was selected in the water source selection work because of its excellent water quality. Water diversion and water supply project is planned to supply water to the main city of Kunming. On October 29, 2007, Qingshuihai water supply and water source environmental management project started construction. On November 5, 2009, the dam of Qingshuihai reservoir was capped. On March 31, 2012, the main water distribution project of the net water distribution project was completed. On April 1, 2012, Qingshuihai supplied water to the main city of Kunming.

After more than 1600 hard days and nights, the well-known Qingshui sea, with its head pillow "Five Dragons" and blue waves, and its foot on a hundred Li mountain range, has come all the way. The clear and sweet spring has moistened the thirsty Kunming.
