Four archways

Ming Dynasty architecture, located in the center of Xinghua City, shizijiekou, cornice vault, simple and solemn.

The four sides of the four archways and the inner wall of the vault are covered with 47 plaques, large and small, to commemorate the celebrities of Xinghua.

Four archways

Sipailou is located in Xuanwu District of Nanjing city. There is a mountain in the city, named qintian mountain, also known as Jilong mountain. On the mountain, there is a Arctic Pavilion, with Xuanwu Lake in the north and one of the royal gardens in the South Dynasty. In the Southern Song Dynasty, the first sun Observatory was built on the top of the mountain, which was the first weather observatory in Nanjing. In the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Yuanzhang built an "Observatory" here, also known as "qintiantai". In the south of Jilongshan, there was a Guozijian, which was the largest national university in China in the 14th and 5th centuries. In the 18th year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1385), an observatory was built here, on which astronomical instruments such as armillary sphere, simple instrument and guibiao were set up. In the Qing Dynasty, "longevity Pavilion" and "imperial stele Pavilion" were built. Because the pavilion is located in the Ming Dynasty "wanzhenwu Temple" after the top, it is called the Arctic Pavilion. People call it "the towering north pole, in the golden city". Just south of the North Pole Pavilion at the foot of qintian mountain is the fourth archway in Nanjing. For thousands of years, it has a long history of running schools. Now it is the location of Sipailou campus of Southeast University.

Four archway, the east side of the street is called Cheng Xian street. The roadside wood beside Nanjing street is famous for its French Wutong, but it is planted on both sides of Cheng Xian street. Its north pass caged Hill extends south to the pavilion of stele Pavilion. Every year in July and August, when locust trees bloom, the road is full of fragrance, and the faint fragrance of locust flowers often fall on pedestrians. For thousands of years, it has been a good place to study. It has a long history of running a school. The context of the Southern Dynasty has been unshakable through a hundred twists and turns, and it has never ceased through a period of confusion.

Historical evolution

In the first year of Yong'an of Sun Wu (258), sun Xiu, the king of the eastern Wu Dynasty, founded the Imperial College, established the Imperial College doctor system, and established the five classics doctor system, which was the origin of Jianye Imperial College.

After Sima Yan, Emperor Wu of Jin Dynasty, unified the whole country, Jianye Taixue was interrupted.

In the seventh year of Yongjia (313) of the Western Jin Dynasty, Jianye county was renamed Jiankang County in order to avoid his name taboo.

After the death of Emperor Wu of Jin Dynasty, the "eight kings' rebellion" in the Central Plains, led by Wang Dao and Xie an, surrounded Sima Rui, the king of Langxie, the royal family of Western Jin Dynasty, in 317, and rushed to Jianye (historically known as "Yongjia South crossing"), established the Eastern Jin Dynasty which was partial to the left side of the Yangtze River, and established the Jiankang Imperial Academy under Jilong mountain.

Later, it was the Taixue of song, Qi, Liang and Chen Jiankang.

In 438, Emperor Wen of the Song Dynasty summoned Lei Tzong to the capital and ordered him to open the museum in Jilong mountain, where he gathered hundreds of professors.

In the Ming Dynasty, Guozijian was set up in Chengxian street at the foot of Jilong mountain, covering both sides of today's Chengxian street, Southeast University and surrounding areas. At its peak, there were four archways, so it was named "four archways".
