Huzhu Tu Autonomous County is located in the northeast of Qinghai Province, at the junction of Qinghai Tibet Plateau and Loess Plateau, with Daban mountain of Qilian Mountains in the north, Gansu Province in the East and Xining City in the southwest. It is 86 km long from east to west and 64 km wide from north to south.

Huzhu county has always been home to a hardworking, simple, singing and dancing people - Tu nationality. Tu people have formed their own unique culture in the long historical process. Tu women's sleeves are made of red, yellow, black, green, white and other colors, which are just like rainbows in the sky. Therefore, it is known as the "hometown of rainbows".

In 2001, Huzhu Tu nationality hometown Park was rated as AAAA tourist area by the National Tourism Administration. Here is the picturesque Beishan National Forest Park. Strange pines and rocks, forest clouds, flowing springs and waterfalls, rare birds and animals constitute a unique natural landscape. With a total area of 113000 hectares, the park is rich in animal and plant resources, including more than 400 plants with high ornamental value. The park has beautiful scenery and many wonders, such as yaoshuiquan waterfall, Daban Hongye, hule Tianchi, Qingtian Yizhu, shierpanpo, peacock cliff, demon cave, xiaosanxia (kasuo gorge, Qinggang gorge, Xiahe gorge) and other trump attractions; there is a drum tower in the center of Weiyuan ancient town, which was built in 1624 (the fourth year of tomorrow's opening), with a height of 18.9 meters, three stories, wooden structure, carved beams, painted buildings and cornices The South Gate Gorge Scenic Area is 15 kilometers north of Weiyuan town. The East and West Mountains of the gorge are facing each other. The cliffs are thousands of feet, the trees are luxuriant on the mountain, and the streams are murmuring at the foot of the mountain.

Nanmenxia reservoir, built in 1973, has a storage capacity of 18 million cubic meters. In the Qing Dynasty, Wufeng misty rain was listed as one of the eight scenic spots in Huangzhong. Longquan waterfall and Qingshan Cuifeng are the main features here. On June 6 every year, the annual Wufeng Mountain Flower Festival makes it a "sea of flowers". Huzhu county also has Youning temple, which was built in 1604 (the 32nd year of Wanli in Ming Dynasty), and Baima temple, which is located on the North Bank of Huangshui River and built on the cliff.

In February 2001, Huzhu Tu Autonomous County's Tu ethnic customs Park, with an investment of 800000 yuan, was officially put into operation. The park has a complete range of performances such as Anzhao dance, wheel autumn, Tu ethnic wedding, bonfire party, folk goods exhibition, Tu ethnic snacks and other Tu ethnic tourism projects. Weiyuan Town, jijiawan village, Donggou tangla village, Dazhuang village and other folk custom reception spots have complete tourism projects, increased investment in infrastructure construction, and further improved service quality. The Tu people use highland barley to make wine, which has a clear and mellow taste and a long aftertaste, and has a good reputation of "opening ten miles for tourists to get drunk". Now, Qinghai highland barley wine group, the largest highland barley brewing base in China, is built in Weiyuan town. The three series and more than 70 varieties of highland barley wine are sold all over the country.

Transportation: to Huzhu Tu Autonomous County, 40 kilometers north of Xining, you can take a 15 minute bus from Xining long distance bus station. The ticket price is 4.80 yuan, and the journey is 1 hour and 30 minutes. If you take the Xiali bus, the round trip is 80 yuan / bus.

Tip: according to the local people, the so-called Tu nationality is not the real Tu nationality. If you want to see the real Tu nationality, you have to walk another 40 kilometers north into the mountain. You can stop the car of the people in ethnic costumes at the roadside and get off with them to go to the village to watch the performance.
