Lanzhou museum is a local comprehensive museum with more than 13000 cultural relics. The former site of Baiyi temple is where the existing Baiyi Temple Pagoda still exists. The museum's basic exhibitions include cultural relics exhibition and calligraphy and painting exhibition. Among them, the painted pottery drum of Majiayao culture horse factory type is the earliest known percussion instrument in China, as well as the bronze drum of the Western Zhou Dynasty, the writing paper of the Eastern Han Dynasty, the cloud head shoes of the Tang Dynasty, the celadon plastic bottle of the Song Dynasty, the white porcelain statue of King Su of the Ming Dynasty, and the helmet armour of the Lu Tusi.
At present, the museum is being closed for renovation. Visitors can visit the Provincial Museum, the memorial hall of the Eighth Route Army Office in Lanzhou, the Jinchengguan Cultural Expo Park and other museums. The renovation is expected to be completed by the end of 2015.
