The site of Yamen

There are three places in Lhasa, namely: dorsenge, xiuchilinka and Manzhen. "Dorsenge" means stone lion, because there is a pair of stone lions in front of yamen, so it is named. In the southwest of the Jokhang Temple, it is now the second guest house of the Tibet Military Region. "Xiuchilinka", which means throne, is said to be the original throne of the seventh Dalai Lama, so it is named. Around today's Cultural Palace. Manzhen, the name of the noble family, is behind the present Tibetan Opera Troupe. After the establishment of the Qing Dynasty, it followed the system of the Ming Dynasty to manage Tibet. In the fifth year of Yongzheng (1727), there was an internal rebellion in Tibet, in which King Kang Jinai was killed. In order to stabilize the situation in Tibet, the Qing government decided to set up a minister in Tibet from the sixth year of Yongzheng.
