Located at No. 8, Gaoqiao, Renmin Road, pingmennei, Puyuan was listed as a cultural relic protection unit of Suzhou City in 1991. The site of the garden was originally wasteland. It was purchased by Wang Shi, a Shanghai egg merchant, in 1932. It covers an area of 10000 square meters and costs 100000 silver yuan. During the period of the Japanese puppet regime, the garden was occupied by Japanese officers, and after the victory of the Anti Japanese War, it was stationed in the army of the people's Republic of China. In 1953, the third engineering team of the State Highway Administration purchased the park, opened a sanatorium, and built an additional three storey building. In 1974, he returned to the Municipal Health Bureau and set up an epidemic prevention station. The rockery was renovated in 1985. Surrounded by granite walls, the park adopts the traditional garden layout, with mountains and rivers as the main scenery, stone covered earth rockery, undulating peaks, pools and curved bridges. There are four halls, flower halls, pavilions, corridors and other buildings. The flowers and trees are luxuriant, including Pinus bungeana, Pinus Podocarpus, Magnolia grandiflora, cherry blossom, Rhododendron, etc. The most precious are the two ground planted five needle pines, which are about 2 meters high and grow vigorously.
