Jiawutai

Xi'an scenic area. It is located in Dayu township of Chang'an County, more than 30 kilometers southeast of Xi'an city. It is a fault block mountain formed by granite during Himalayan movement. Jiawutai

Jiawutai is located between Xiaoyu and Dayu in Yinzhen Town, Dayu Township, Chang'an District, 40 kilometers southeast of Xi'an city. It is a steep mountain in Qinling Mountains. From the big outline to the local scenery, jiawutai gives people a sense of majestic, precipitous and magical no matter from that angle. Long before the first year of Zhenguan in Tang Dynasty (627 AD), it became a Buddhist holy land in Chang'an City and was well-known all over the world. When Dalai and Panchen lamas came to Chang'an City for examinations, they lived in the Lama cave. On the side of the cave, there are cliff carvings from the Zhenguan period of the Tang Dynasty, as well as relief Buddha statues. Since the Tang and Song Dynasties, many dignitaries, celebrities and scholars have come here to write poems and paintings.
