Marshal Ye Jianying's tomb is located in the cemetery of Guangzhou Uprising martyrs in Honghuagang, north of Jiaochang, Zhongshan Third Road, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province. On October 22, 1986, Marshal Ye Jianying died of illness in Beijing. On October 29, the CPC Central Committee held a memorial meeting for Ye Jianying at the Great Hall of the people in Beijing, attended by more than 5000 people from all walks of life in the capital. Deng Xiaoping presided over the memorial service and Hu Yaobang delivered a eulogy. The eulogy recalled Ye Jianying's great contributions to the cause of Chinese people's Liberation and socialist construction, especially his great contributions at the turning point of the revolution, and warmly praised his lofty moral character and fine style. On October 31, Ye Jianying's Linggu was transferred from Beijing to Guangzhou. On October 22, 1987, on the first anniversary of the death of Marshal Ye Jianying, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China solemnly held a ceremony for the placement of Ye Jianying's spiritual bones at the Honghuagang martyrs' cemetery in Guangzhou. The main leaders of the party and the state attended the ceremony.
