Yincang Gorge

Yincang Canyon is located in Yinchanggou Scenic Area of Longmenshan Town, Pengzhou City, 89 kilometers away from Chengdu. Yincang Canyon is 500 to 1000 meters deep and 4000 meters long. Steep cliffs on both sides of the canyon stand towering, with smoke and clouds flowing and thorns growing. There are many towering rocks on the top of the mountain. They glare down like giant animals. At the bottom of the canyon, huge stones are piled up. Torrents beat stones. The waves are rolling and roaring. In the valley, there is a plank road made of wooden ladders, which is rugged and steep; sometimes it wades through the water, sometimes it climbs the ladder over the mountain, sometimes it climbs the rope over the cliff, sometimes it jumps over the single wooden bridge. In the middle of the gorge, there is a section called "Longkou" which is about 200 meters long. The river water disappears here and exposes the earth's crust again. It is like a giant dragon lying in the gorge swallowing water and spilling out from the tail, so it is called "Longkou".
