Nujiang mountain is also known as Yela mountain. The elevation of Nujiang mountain is 4618 meters, that of Google Earth is 4644 meters, and that of Surveying and mapping is 4641 meters.

The Nujiang Grand Canyon and Nujiang 72 turn nearby are famous places of the south line of Sichuan Tibet railway, namely national highway 318.

Nujiang mountain is the last and the biggest natural danger of Hengduan Mountains. Nujiang mountain is located at the junction of Hengduan Mountains and Qinghai Tibet Plateau. Geological activities are frequent, and debris flow and large-scale landslides are very common. The steep distance from Nujiang River Valley to Nujiang mountain pass is tens of kilometers, with an elevation difference of 2000 meters. It has experienced the change from hot summer to cold winter, and the vertical zoning of plants from broad-leaved forest to coniferous forest is also very obvious.
