Shixiaguan Great Wall

There are two climbing routes: the east road climbs along the newly built climbing stone steps, and a viewing platform is built in the middle of the mountain; the west road climbs along the newly built climbing Road to a gap in the Great Wall. "Xinghuapo" in spring and "jinghuagu" in midsummer are all important shooting spots.

Shixiaguan Great Wall

Shixiaguan Great Wall, also known as the remnant Great Wall, is located 5 kilometers southwest of Badaling Great Wall scenic area. It is surrounded by steep mountains, deep gullies and narrow passes. The Great Wall is connected with the Chengguan pass and faces the Dunpu pass. It is primitive and full of broken walls and debris. The remnant Great Wall scenic area has been developed for 2 square kilometers. There are about 2000 meters of remnant Great Wall in this area, and only about 100 meters are open now.

Fortress use

In the history of Ming Dynasty, it was a military fortress with the same status as the Badaling Great Wall. Both of them belonged to Juyong Pass. It was a part of the defense system of the great wall and the main way for the Great Wall to enter Beijing.
