Zayeba temple is one of the four major monasteries in Tibet. Founded in the 7th century A.D., it has a history of 1500 years. It is one of the monasteries built by Zanpu Songzanganbu of Tubo for his beloved Princess mangsa Chizun. Later, it was expanded several times to form the zayeba temple, which is tightly embedded in the crevice wall of the cliff. The biggest feature is to build a temple with caves and integrate them.

Different from the peaks with only a shallow layer of turf on the surface of the surrounding mountains, zhayeba is full of natural aura. The pines and cypresses on the mountain are tall and straight, dense and green, and the springs and streams at the foot of the mountain are flowing. In spring and summer, the mountain flowers are brilliant, and a hundred birds sing together. The temple of zayba is hidden in the cliff, which is a special scenery.

Zhayeba temple is tightly embedded in the crevice of the cliff. It is said that it is the temple of practice built by mangsa chijiang, the princess of Tibet whose blood was left by Songzanganbu.

In the 8th century, Chisong Dezan advocated Buddhism and invited master lianhuasheng from India to carry forward Buddhism. When master lianhuasheng was practicing and preaching in zayeba temple, he built the "108 great achievers" practice cave, which has become a famous Buddhist practice hall in Tubo since then. In the 11th century, adixia received disciples and preached in the Maitreya Hall of zayeba temple for five years, and zayeba became an important Taoist center of the gadang sect. In 1647, the fifth Dalai Lama built a four storey Gelug monastery in zayeba temple. At the same time, he built a temple for offering Buddhist services, a Dharma temple, a Dalai Lama's bedroom, etc., offering statues of adixia, zhongdunba, zongkaba, etc., with 160 monks. In the 18th century, zhayeba Temple established the gelupai secret school.

Today, there are many caves in it, such as the Fawang cave of Songzanganbu (a small Buddha Hall "zulakang" is built outside), the Yueliang cave of lianhuasheng, the Lalong cave of assassinating Zanpu, the Lalong cave of baijiduoji, and the zushi cave of adixia. It is said that some people have excavated the hidden classics here.

In Dazi county. In the middle of the 7th century, Zanpu Songzanganbu of Tubo initiated the construction for Princess munsa chijiang. It is said that there are 108 caves between the cliffs of Yerba, which are the places where famous monks practice Buddhism.

There are more than ten caves in existence. Among them, Songzanganbu Xiufa cave was built the first time. It is located on the cliff of the middle of the mountain. There are Buddhist niches, ancient murals and statues of Songzanganbu in the original cave. Now the Buddha statues have been destroyed. A temple was built around the cave, and then it was repaired and expanded many times to form a famous temple. In the middle of the 8th century, Zanpu Chisong Dezan advocated Buddhism and invited master lianhuazi from India to promote Buddhism. The master once came here to practice Buddhism, and the mifa cave still exists today. Not far from master lianhuazi's Xiufa cave, there is a bell room with a copper bell hanging inside, two rings of bell inscriptions and a circle of rings. From the perspective of writing style, it should be a cultural relic of Tubo Period. The whereabouts of this clock are unknown. In the 11th century, adixia, an ancient Indian monk, wrote books and lectures here. There are his former residence and Dharma cave.
