The custom of Nvshu is a social and cultural phenomenon, which is mainly inherited from the women in shangjiangxu town and its neighboring areas in Jiangyong County, Hunan Province. The nvzi (also known as Nvshu) is the only existing gender character discovered so far. Nvzi, nvge, nvhong and their inherited folk custom constitute a rich and three-dimensional Nvshu Customs. In April 2002, Nvshu was listed in China's archival heritage list. In October 2005, Nvshu was included in the Guinness Book of records with "the world's most gender specific characters".
