It is one of the key mineral development projects in the period of the national five year plan. It is formed by the accumulation of ore left by the development of Taolin lead zinc mine in Linxiang, Hunan Province for more than half a century. In 1958, the Taolin lead-zinc mine, an enterprise directly under the Ministry of metallurgy of China, set up camp in tingjiafan, Zhongfang Town, to mine lead-zinc ores. A hundred tons of tailing sand per day was transported to the hills through ore washing pipelines. Year after year, the hills and gullies have been dredged up, and people have raised the dam layer by layer, thus forming tens of meters of beach. Mineral sand is full of mountains and stretches for several kilometers. It has become the largest artificial desert so far, known as "Jiangnan Gobi". Because the color of the ore is closer to silver, and it is more dazzling in the moonlight, it is called "Silver Beach". The sand is silver white and delicate. It has been tested by the relevant authorities of the Ministry of land and environmental protection and the Ministry of nuclear industry, and has no harm to human body. Silver beach is composed of mountain, water and sand. The edge of sand is water and the end of water is mountain. It has the beauty of beach and the magnificence of desert. It covers an area of more than 3000 mu, has a depth of more than 50 meters, and stores nearly 100 million cubic meters of sand.
