Ningde Museum

Ningde Museum (Mindong She Nationality Museum) is subordinate to Ningde culture, radio, television, press and Publication Bureau. It is a comprehensive museum with the purpose of collecting, displaying and studying Ningde history and culture, folk customs and Mindong She nationality cultural relics. Mindong She Nationality Museum was built in 1989, and Ningde City Museum was set up in 2005. The two museums implement "one set of people and two brands". In 2009, it was named "national third level museum" by the State Administration of cultural relics.

Development history

Mindong She Nationality Museum was built in 1989 and opened to the outside world. After Ningde museum was established in 2005, the two museums implemented "one set of people and two brands". In 2006, the museum moved to the newly completed City Cultural Center (located in the art museum on the west side of Huating Road, Dongqiao Development Zone).

The new exhibition hall of the Museum covers an area of 800 square meters. The exhibition is divided into two parts: Ningde history and Mindong She nationality. More than 800 cultural relics are displayed. The display of Ningde historical relics is divided into five categories: ancient sites, ancient tombs, ancient buildings, stone inscriptions, important modern historical sites and representative buildings. It vividly shows Ningde's long history and splendid culture with pictures and texts. On the other hand, the cultural relics display of the She nationality in eastern Fujian shows her wedding, traditional costumes of different styles in different regions and customs of production and life from religious sacrifices, clothing and jewelry, production appliances, living appliances and handicrafts, etc., providing an intuitive and vivid perspective for the audience to understand the history and traditional culture of the She nationality.
