Tongle town

Tongle Township, formerly known as Tongluo, is located at the southwest edge of Fuling, Chongqing, 56 kilometers away from the urban area. It is adjacent to Wulong County in the East and Nanchuan District in the south. In May 2008, Jubao township was merged into Tongle Township, covering an area of 97.66 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 13 villages, 1 neighborhood committee and 73 Village (neighborhood) groups. By the end of 2017, there were 15923 permanent residents. There are 30671 mu of cultivated land, including 23925 mu of farmland, 6746 mu of soil and 51728 mu of forest, with a coverage rate of 40%.

In 1953, Tongle township was divided into three townships: Xinsheng, Jianshe and Jianhua. In 1955, Tongle township was established by merging Tongle, Xinsheng and Jianshe townships. In 1992, Jubao township was merged into Tongle township. In 1996, it covers an area of 87.3 square kilometers and has a population of 24000. It has jurisdiction over 21 administrative villages, namely, Qiyi, Tongle, Xinhua, Xuefeng, Shisheng, Jingkou, Jiefang, Ziyuan, Ganshui, CHONGKOU, Lianchi, Jianshe, Changqing, Renshou, Chahua, Jubao, Qianjin, Xinjian, chagang, Lianxing and Qifeng. In 1998, Jubao township was restored. At the end of 2000, Tongle Township covers an area of 65.73 square kilometers, with a total population of 16713 people, including 573 non-agricultural people, governing 12 villages, 85 villager groups, and the township government is stationed in tonglechang; Jubao Township covers an area of 36.5 square kilometers, with a total population of 8302 people, including 208 non-agricultural people, governing 9 villages, 49 villager groups, and the township government is stationed in mopanqiu.
