Port town

The port coastal tourist resort (yuangangkou town) is located at the southern end of Renping Peninsula in Huidong County. It is surrounded by the sea on three sides, adjacent to Daya Bay in the west, Red Bay in the East and South China Sea in the south. It has a population of 22500 people, a sea area of about 100 square kilometers, a coastline of 21.7 kilometers and a land area of 24 square kilometers. It has eight administrative villages and one community neighborhood committee. It is a subtropical warm and humid marine climate.

The port area was officially established on June 6, 2008, which indicates that the future development direction of the port area will be coastal tourism development and traditional marine industry.

Regional introduction

The port tourist resort is located in the east coast of Huidong County. Daxing mountain and red bay are located in the East, Daya Bay in the west, South China Sea in the south, beach and sandy beach in the north, and 50 km away from the county seat in the northwest. Because it is located at the entrance of the harbor to the north of Daxing mountain, it is named port. The total area is 21.8 square kilometers. From the beginning of Ming Dynasty, fishermen from Zhangzhou, Fujian, went south to fish in the harbor and settled down.

history

The Qing Dynasty was a military fortress under the jurisdiction of Pinghai ancient city. In 1959, it was separated from Pinghai commune to establish port commune. In 1983, it was divided into districts and in 1987, it was divided into towns. In April 2006, the port town was abolished to set up a tourist resort and merged into Pinghai town.

products

It is the southernmost tip of Renping Peninsula, and belongs to half fishing and half salt area. Rich in marine resources, rich in lobster, grouper, mackerel, shrimp, crab, conch, abalone, laver and so on.

The residents speak crane language. There are more than 10000 overseas Chinese and compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.

Cultural attractions

The harbor turtle National Nature Reserve is located in this area. Daxing mountain fort, located in Zhudou city in the south of Daxing mountain, was built in 1718, the 57th year of Kangxi reign of Qing Dynasty. It is now a county-level cultural relics protection unit. Xiaoxingshan Island, 4.7 km from the South China Sea of Daxing, is the navigation target of coastal ships. On October 7, 1962, the port primary militia company completely annihilated 12 armed agents of the United States and Chiang Kai Shek on this island, and was awarded the glorious title of "port hero militia company" by the Central South Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Guangzhou Military Region.

Double-Moon Bay

Shuangyue Bay is located in the coastal tourist resort of Huidong County. It is composed of two half moon shaped bays adjacent to Daya Bay and red bay. The bird's-eye view looks like two crescent moons, so it is called "Shuangyue bay".

Turtle Bay

Huidong harbor turtle National Nature Reserve is located at the southern foot of Daxing mountain, with a total land and sea area of 18 square kilometers. It is the last turtle bed on the 18000 km coastline of mainland China and the only national turtle Nature Reserve in China. It is listed in the Ramsar Convention list of international important wetlands. It is surrounded by mountains on three sides and adjacent to the sea on the south. Since ancient times, it has been a natural place for turtles to lay eggs on the shore. The local people call it "Turtle Bay".

Paotai mountain

Daxing mountain Fort site is located in DAAO village, Huidong port coastal tourist resort. It is built on the top of Daxing mountain. Because of its location and shape similar to pig pocket, it is called "pig pocket city". Because of the existence of fort, Daxing mountain is called "Fort Mountain" by the local people. Daxingshan fort was built in 1718, the 57th year of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty.

Xiaoxingshan

Xiaoxingshan battle Martyrs Monument xiaoxingshan battle Martyrs Monument is located in the coastal tourist resort of Huidong port, standing at the foot of the towering Daxing mountain. It was built to commemorate the heroic martyrs of Huidong port militia company who completely annihilated the enemy agents of the United States and Chiang Kai Shek in the early 1960s. The monument covers an area of 1500 square meters, with a monument platform, rest stone seat, entertainment chessboard, etc. the main body of the monument platform covers an area of 150 square meters, and the height of the monument is about 4.3 meters. The monument faces the sea behind the mountain. The building is magnificent, solemn and lush.

Donglian Temple

Donglian temple is located on feifeng mountain at the end of the harbor, a coastal tourist resort. It is backed by the mountains in the northwest, facing the southeast sea view, with baishigang on the right and jinshuiniang on the left. The temple is one of the famous ancient temples in Huizhou City, with rigorous layout and simple architecture. The main hall is located in the middle of the mountain.

The region's specialties are: Dayuan radish, sea urchin, grouper, abalone. The radishes produced in Dayuan management area are sweet, refreshing and slag free, and are sold in Hong Kong and Macao. Sea urchins grown on the reefs of Daxing mountain and Xiaoxing mountain are big and fat. They are excellent seafood and exported to Hong Kong, Japan and other places. Port abalone, big meat, fresh and sweet, high nutritional value, exported to Hong Kong. Port grouper, tender, delicious, exported to Hong Kong and other places.

Shuangyue Bay is 20 nautical miles away from Huizhou Port and 42 nautical miles away from Hong Kong in the west, and 30 nautical miles away from Shanwei port in the East. It can directly reach Huizhou Port, Hong Kong, Shanwei, Shantou and other ports by waterway. National Highway 324 is tangent to the north of Renping Peninsula, 38 km away from the port. Through National Highway 324, you can quickly enter Shenshan Expressway and Guanghui expressway. the area has convenient land and water transportation. Renshan Daxingshan highway runs through the whole town and connects with Guangzhou Shantou highway in the north. It can reach Huizhou Port, Shantou, Shanwei, Fujian, Guangzhou, Hong Kong and other places by sea.
