Guangzhou Maritime College

Guangzhou Maritime College is a provincial public undergraduate college and the only independent Maritime College in South China. Its predecessor is Guangzhou Maritime College founded by Guangzhou Maritime Administration of the Ministry of communications in 1964. With the approval of the Ministry of communications of the people's Republic of China in 1981, Guangzhou Maritime College and Guangzhou Maritime Industry School merged to form Guangzhou Maritime College directly under the Ministry of communications; In 1992, with the approval of the State Education Commission, Guangzhou Maritime College and Guangzhou maritime branch of Wuhan Institute of water transport engineering merged to form Guangzhou Maritime College directly under the Ministry of communications. In 1998, it was transferred to Guangdong Provincial People's government for management. In 2002, with the approval of Guangdong Provincial People's government, Guangzhou Maritime College was incorporated into Guangzhou Maritime College; In 2013, with the approval of the Ministry of education, Guangzhou Maritime College was upgraded to an ordinary undergraduate college and changed to its current name.

The school has 13 institutes (departments), including navigation technology, marine engineering, ship electronic and electrical engineering, transportation, logistics engineering, port and waterway and coastal engineering, computer science and technology, business English, ship and marine engineering, electrical engineering and automation, communication engineering, engineering management, energy and power engineering, international business, transportation management and maritime administration More than 40 majors, including science, e-commerce, digital media art, civil engineering, electronic information engineering, financial management, mechanical engineering, finance, law, tourism management, international economy and trade, have enrolled in 25 provinces and cities nationwide, with nearly 13000 full-time students.

The school attaches great importance to the construction of teaching staff and has a strong teaching force. At present, there are 603 full-time teachers, including 226 with senior professional titles (45 full-time professors), and 451 with graduate education (degree). All public courses, professional basic courses and professional courses are equipped with teachers with senior professional titles.
