Wang Shipeng

Wang Shipeng, male, Han nationality, was born on April 6, 1983 in Dandong City, Liaoning Province, China. He is a former Chinese professional basketball player and a shooting guard.

Wang Shipeng started to represent Guangdong team in CBA in 1999, and helped the team to win the CBA championship in 2003-2004, 2004-2005, 2005-2006, 2007-2008, 2008-2009, 2009-2010, 2010-2011 and 2012-2013 seasons, among which, he won the MVP in 2010-2011 season; he was selected into the national team for the first time in 2005; he went to Japan world championships with the team in August 2006, and China played sloven in the last round of group stage NIA's last 5 seconds, hit a three-point winner, making the Chinese team qualified for the semi-finals; on November 24, 2010, in the men's basketball semi-final of Guangzhou Asian Games, China defeated Iran National Men's basketball team, making the men's basketball team reverse Iran and enter the finals; in August 2012, China went to London Olympic Games with the team.

On May 28, 2016, Guangdong Hongyuan basketball club announced that its meritorious guard Wang Shipeng would retire. On June 4 of the same year, Wang Shipeng officially announced his retirement.

Early experience

In the 1999-2000 season, Wang Shipeng played for Guangdong Hongyuan in the CBA League for the first time with 19 appearances and 0.7 points;

In the 2003-2004 season, Wang Shipeng became the best sixth man in Guangdong Hongyuan, averaging 13.6 points and 4.6 rebounds per game, with a three-point shooting rate exceeding 30% for the first time, and won the CBA championship with Zhu Fangyu, Yi Jianlian and Du Feng;

During the 2004-2005 season, Wang Shipeng became one of the leaders of Guangdong team. He played 53 times, averaging 13.6 points and 4.6 rebounds, and helped the team win the CBA League Championship for the second year in a row;

In the 2005-2006 season, Wang Shipeng averaged 31 points, 12.1 points and 4 rebounds;

In the 2007-2008 CBA season, Wang Shipeng averaged 19.8 points and 2.5 assists, of which 19.8 points and 42.7% of the three-point shooting rate were his career high, helping Guangdong team win the CBA Championship six times; in the CBA all star game on February 10, Wang Shipeng represented the drum team and won the banner team 104-91. After the game, Wang Shipeng, who scored 10 three-point goals, got the most valuable player (MVP) of the game;

In 2008-2009 season, Wang Shipeng played 59 times, with an average playing time of 38 minutes, 13.8 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.4 assists;

On January 15, 2010, in the 12th round of 2009-2010 season cba league, Guangdong team beat Shaanxi team 143-118 at home, winning 11 consecutive games since the start of CBA season, setting a new record for Guangdong team in a single game. Wang Shipeng contributed 36 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists;

On April 27, 2011, in the sixth game of the 2010-2011 season finals, Wang Shipeng scored 12 points and 4 rebounds, helping Guangdong team to win the seventh championship in eight years, and Wang Shipeng also won the MVP of the finals;

In July 2010, he went to the Stankovic cup with the national team. In the second game of the Stankovic cup, he defeated Iran 86-64 and avenged his defeat in the 2009 Asian championship. Wang Shipeng scored the highest 21 points in the game and made 3-for-4 three-point shots;

On November 12, 2010, Wang Shipeng went to Guangzhou Asian Games with his team; on November 25, China played Iran in the men's basketball semi-final of the 16th Asian Games. Wang Shipeng hit three points in 13 seconds before the end of the game to help China defeat Iran 68-65 and advance to the final;

On November 26, 2010, he played in the men's basketball final of the Asian Games, helping China win 77-71 over South Korea and win the seventh championship since China took part in the Asian Games.

Announce retirement

On May 28, 2016, Guangdong Hongyuan basketball club announced that its meritorious guard Wang Shipeng would retire. On June 4 of the same year, Wang Shipeng officially announced his retirement.

On October 26, 2014, Li Ran and his girlfriend of three years held a wedding in the banquet hall of Hongyuan hotel;
