Henan Police College

Henan police college is an ordinary university with undergraduate level. The predecessor of the college is the training class for security cadres of the Social Department of the Party committee of the western Henan District of the Communist Party of China, which was established in February 1949. In March 2010, Henan police college was established with the approval of the Ministry of education and the provincial government. In August 2012, with the approval of the provincial editorial office, Kaifeng police academy and Luoyang Police Academy were officially incorporated into Henan police college. The college is the only public security college in our province and an important part of the public security organs in the province. It undertakes the dual functions of academic education and on-the-job police training, and implements the management referring to the civil service law.

The college has three campuses, located in Zhengzhou, Kaifeng and Luoyang, covering a total area of more than 1800 mu. At present, there are 763 teaching staff, 532 with professional and technical positions, 181 with senior professional and technical positions, and 279 with master's degree or above. It has 1 famous ministry level teaching teacher of public security higher education, 3 national public security system model teachers and 2-level models, 3 specially appointed instructors of the Ministry of public security, 23 academic and technical leaders of Henan Provincial Education Department, 3 advanced and model teachers of Henan Province, 8 excellent people's teachers and civilized teachers of Henan Province, and 15 young backbone teachers of colleges and universities of Henan Province. It has been selected as one of the "top 100 outstanding young teachers of Henan Province" In the year, there was one person in the "social science theory talent training project", one expert in Vocational Education in Henan Province, and one excellent education management talent in Henan Province. There are nearly 8000 full-time students, including 2695 reformed students. The college enrolls 14 undergraduate majors (directions), including 12 majors in investigation, economic crime investigation, public security, drug control, criminal science and technology, traffic management engineering, police command and tactics, network security and law enforcement, public security management, public security (legal direction), investigation (Anti-Terrorism direction) and public security management (psychology direction); There are two non public security majors in law and applied psychology. At present, there are two public security specialties, traffic management and public security management. The major of investigation is the provincial comprehensive reform pilot major and the key cultivation major of the Ministry of public security; the major of public security is the provincial characteristic major; the major of traffic management engineering is the provincial comprehensive reform pilot major; the experimental center of criminal science is the provincial experimental teaching demonstration center; and the major of law is the provincial comprehensive reform pilot major. At present, there are 1 national excellent resource sharing course, 4 Ministry of public security excellent courses, 4 Henan excellent courses, 1 Henan excellent resource sharing course and 14 college excellent courses. In recent years, it has successfully applied for 2 national social science projects, presided over and completed 83 provincial and ministerial level scientific research and teaching research projects, 413 prefecture level scientific research and teaching research projects, and won 12 provincial and ministerial level scientific research awards, 165 prefecture level scientific research and teaching research awards, and 2 Provincial Higher Education and teaching achievement awards. At present, there are 16 on campus experimental training rooms, 22 off campus practical training bases, and more than 980000 books.

The college is based on serving the public security work and the construction of the public security team in Henan, serving the economic and social development of Henan, and highlighting the regional and industrial characteristics. We should give priority to undergraduate education, retain junior college education, moderately carry out continuing education, and strengthen on-the-job police training. To cultivate practical and compound senior police professionals with solid basic theory, strong practical ability, high comprehensive quality and innovative spirit. College education is divided into four levels: ① general higher education for high school graduates. ② The political and legal officers and policemen who are recruited for college graduates and demobilized soldiers are the reformed students. The enrollment scale of reformed students has always been in the forefront of the country, and has gradually become the main channel for the provincial public security organs to supplement the police force. ③ Adult education. ④ On the job training and education of police in the whole province. About 12000 intermediate police officers of all levels and types are trained every year to provide important intellectual support for improving the overall quality and combat effectiveness of the provincial public security team.

The college was rated as a provincial civilized unit. In 2012, the college won the first prize of undergraduate group in the first national teaching skills competition of public security colleges organized by the Ministry of public security. In 2013, it won gold, silver, bronze, excellent award and excellent organization award in the first national literature and art competition of training base of public security colleges. In 2015, the college was rated as the advanced collective of "Shanghai Cooperation Conference" security work by the provincial government. 2016 successfully completed the security reinforcement task of "G20 summit" and won the second class collective merit of the Ministry of public security. Since academic education was launched in 1978, a large number of advanced model figures represented by Ren Changxia, the model of the times, have emerged among college graduates. Many of them have won the title of national public security system model, and nearly 10000 people have been awarded meritorious service. At present, nearly half of the graduates of the provincial public security police middle school have become the backbone of the public security team, and the college is known as the "cradle of Central Plains police officers".
