Chengde Medical College

Chengde Medical University is a general higher medical undergraduate school under the Hebei provincial government. It is located in Chengde, a famous tourist attraction in China.

The school was founded in 1945, formerly known as Jidong military health school. After the fourth branch of China Medical University, Rehe Medical College, Chengde Medical College, etc. In 1982, with the approval of the Ministry of education, it was upgraded to an undergraduate college and named Chengde Medical College. In 1996, the University passed the qualification assessment of undergraduate institutions organized by the Ministry of education; in 2003, it was approved as the authorized unit of master's degree by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council; in 2007, it won the excellent award in the undergraduate teaching level assessment of the Ministry of education.

The campus covers an area of 749000 square meters and a building area of 166800 square meters. The total value of fixed assets is 614 million yuan. The library has a collection of about 600000 books, more than 600 kinds of journals and magazines, 2.4 million e-books and 7 databases including Wanfang medical journal full text database, China academic journal full text database and EBSCO foreign language database.

The school has 2160 staff (including affiliated hospitals), including 1759 professional and technical personnel. There are 764 full-time teachers, 164 with senior professional title, 191 with deputy senior professional title, 44 with doctor's degree and 450 with master's degree, accounting for 64.66% of the total number of teachers. There are more than 40 experts who enjoy the special allowance of the State Council, outstanding teachers in China, young and middle-aged management experts in Hebei Province, famous teaching teachers at the provincial level, young discipline leaders at the provincial level, provincial "333 talent project" and young and middle-aged backbone teachers. At present, our school has 195 master's tutors and 4 doctor's tutors. Our school has employed many well-known scholars at home and abroad as part-time or visiting professors.

The school has 11 undergraduate programs in clinical medicine, nursing, traditional Chinese medicine, anesthesiology and medical imaging, and 6 specialty programs in clinical medicine, nursing and foreign nursing. There are 1 directly affiliated hospital, 23 non directly affiliated hospitals and 32 teaching practice hospitals, with a total of more than 60000 beds. There are five colleges including clinical college, nursing college, continuing education college, basic medical college and College of traditional Chinese medicine, and seven teaching departments including Department of traditional Chinese medicine, Department of psychology, Department of Biomedical Engineering, Department of social science, Department of public sports, Department of graduate students and international exchange center. There are 66 teaching and research departments, 14 medical experimental centers and 6 research institutes in the school.

At present, there are more than 9000 undergraduate and junior college students and full-time graduate students from 28 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government). Among them, there are 358 postgraduate students and 214 international students. In 2006, we began to recruit foreign students. In 2007, we began to send nursing students to study in Singapore. From 2007 to 2013, we successively signed student exchange and cooperation agreements with many international universities, including Sapporo City University of Japan and Youshi University of Korea.

At present, the university has three master's degree awarding first-class disciplines of Chinese medicine, clinical medicine and basic medicine, covering 26 second-class master's degree awarding disciplines, among which clinical medicine, nursing and Chinese medicine are professional degree awarding disciplines. At present, the university has 3 provincial key disciplines, 5 key development disciplines, and 18 school level key disciplines; Hebei Provincial Traditional Chinese medicine research and development laboratory is the Key Laboratory of Hebei Province; 4 provincial traditional Chinese Medicine Research Laboratory (Level II) standard laboratories; clinical medicine is the first batch of National Undergraduate Comprehensive reform pilot specialty; 2 national characteristic specialty construction points; 3 provincial traditional Chinese Medicine Research Laboratory (Level II) standard laboratories; There are 2 innovation highlands of undergraduate education in Hebei Province, 2 Brand Specialty in Hebei Province, 3 provincial "pilot project of comprehensive reform of specialty", 9 provincial excellent courses and 1 provincial excellent teaching team. Since 2008, the university has applied for 13 national projects and 70 provincial projects including National Natural Science Foundation of China. 18 scientific research achievements have won the science and technology progress award of Hebei Province.

The pass rate of CET-4 of our college students has been among the best in the same type of colleges and universities in China for many years, and the one-time pass rate of reference grade is more than 90% for five consecutive years. In recent years, more than 40% of the graduates have been admitted to the postgraduate entrance examination. A large number of graduates have directly obtained master's or doctor's degrees from well-known universities in China or have gone abroad to study for degrees. The one-time employment rate of our school is more than 80%, and a considerable number of graduates work directly in medical institutions and large and medium-sized enterprises. The overall passing rate of clinical medicine undergraduate students participating in the national medical licensing examination is 10 percentage points higher than the national average level.

The university has won the title of "provincial civilized unit" for 8 times; the university students' practice has won the commendation of the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Ministry of education and the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League for 5 times; the university has been awarded the title of "national advanced unit of university students' military training" by the Ministry of education, the general staff and the General Political Department; the university has been awarded the title of "top ten unit" for campus culture construction in Hebei Province; and the university has been awarded the title of "civilized courtyard" in Hebei Province. Affiliated Hospital was rated as "advanced unit of national health system"; Youth League Committee was rated as "May 4th Red Flag Youth League Committee" and "Youth Rights Protection post" in 2013; nursing college was rated as "national March 8th red flag collective"; in addition, the University was the president unit of Hebei University Students' red ribbon Association.
