School history: Nanjing Railway Vocational and technical college is a model higher vocational college in Jiangsu Province. The predecessor of the school is Nanjing special municipal No.1 Vocational middle school, which was founded in 1941. It was renamed Nanjing railway transportation school in 1955, upgraded to higher vocational and technical college in 2002, and transferred to Jiangsu Province by the former Ministry of Railways in 2004. The school is the only rail transit Vocational College in the Yangtze River Delta. It is a vocational college jointly built by Jiangsu Provincial Department of education, Shanghai Railway Bureau and Pukou District government. It is also one of the vocational colleges with the longest history and the greatest influence in the rail transit industry. It is known as the "Huangpu Military Academy" of rail transit personnel training in East China.
