Fuzhou Melbourne Polytechnic Vocational College (formerly Minjiang University AIEN International College) is a higher international college jointly organized by Minjiang University and two public universities of Melbourne Polytechnic in Australia (school running license number: gov35aua03inr20170936n). It is the only Chinese foreign cooperative school running institution in Fujian Province approved by the Ministry of national education to implement higher academic education. It has been a joint venture for 18 years History of running a school. In January 2017, the college was officially approved by the Ministry of education as Fuzhou Melbourne Polytechnic vocational college with independent legal personality, becoming the 12th Chinese foreign cooperative school in China and the first independent school in Fujian Province.

The establishment of the college is of positive significance. The college was founded by general secretary Xi Jinping in the context of Fujian's position as governor and actively promoting relations with Tasmania Prefecture in Singapore. In accordance with the school running concept of "not seeking the biggest, but seeking the best, but meeting the needs of the society" proposed by General Secretary Xi during the period when he was Secretary of the CPC Fuzhou Municipal Committee and concurrently president of the former Minjiang Vocational University, the college actively introduces international high-quality education resources and cooperates with foreign countries to cultivate high-quality international talents. The establishment of the college conforms to the urgent demand of the local social and economic development for international talents, and is of great strategic significance to the opening up and development of Fujian and Fuzhou under the background of "six areas superposition".

The college carries out higher education, and is committed to cultivating a large number of international applied talents with international vision, international rules and similar professional standards. At present, there are nearly 2000 students majoring in accounting (international accounting direction), international finance, international economy and trade, e-commerce (cross-border e-commerce direction), marketing (international marketing direction), hotel management (foreign hotel management direction), business English (international business management direction), digital media art design, computer application technology, etc. The students graduated with the certificate of China and Australia - the diploma of Fuzhou Melbourne Institute of technology and the associate degree of Australia Melbourne Institute of technology.

The college introduces international high-quality education resources, implements a diversified school running mode in line with international education, introduces Australia's 100 year old TAFE education and the advanced curriculum system of Melbourne Institute of technology, formulates a talent training plan in combination with domestic reality, and carries out associate degree education. Associate degree education is better than college education, which can better connect undergraduate education, transfer more credits for further study abroad, and greatly shorten the time of studying abroad.

The college has an international teaching staff with a combination of Chinese and foreign teachers. It implements teaching management in line with international education. Teaching is assessed and supervised by the Australian higher education quality and Standards Agency (teqsa).
