Jilin Agricultural Engineering Vocational and technical college is a public university approved by the people's Government of Jilin Province. The college has Gongzhuling campus and Siping new campus, covering an area of 282000 square meters and a building area of 112000 square meters, with convenient transportation. The new campus is now in the construction and planning stage and is expected to be put into use in July.

Founded in 1958, the college has a long history of running a school. In the course of running a school for many years, the college has always adhered to the vocational education policy of "taking service as the purpose, taking employment as the guidance, and improving students' comprehensive ability" and "cultivating high-quality, high skilled and innovative front-line talents" as the school running goal. At present, there are 244 full-time teachers (including 120 professors and associate professors), 53 professional departments and 18 professional practice bases. In the past three years, the college has undertaken 27 scientific research projects at or above the provincial level, obtained 3 national patents, published more than 700 papers at or above the provincial level, and compiled nearly 50 works.

The college has been designated as the vocational skill appraisal station by Jilin vocational skill appraisal center. It has more than 100 vocational skill assessors and can carry out the appraisal of more than 30 technical types of work.
