Gansu iron and steel vocational and Technical College

Gansu iron and steel vocational and Technical College (Jiuquan Iron and steel workers University) was founded in 1979 by Jiuquan Iron and steel group company. In 1982, it was approved by Gansu Provincial People's government and put on record by the Ministry of education of the people's Republic of China. In 2005, the University applied for the reconstruction of Gansu iron and steel vocational and technical college, which has passed the evaluation of the evaluation committee for the establishment of colleges and universities in Gansu Province and the approval of the people's Government of Gansu Province.

In 2002, the University and Gansu metallurgy advanced technology college jointly run a school, and established an education and training base with multiple functions, such as higher academic education, technician senior technician education, middle and senior technician education, staff training, special operation training, vocational skill appraisal, career introduction, employment service, etc. In 2002, the college was rated as the national "Electromechanical project" high-tech talent training base. In 2005, the college was rated as "national advanced unit of vocational education" by seven ministries and commissions including the Ministry of education.

The school is located in Jiayuguan City, Gansu Province, a steel city in the west, covering an area of 130000 square meters (about 195 mu), with a construction area of 40000 square meters and fixed assets of nearly 100 million yuan. Education and training, book reading, experimental practice, life services, fitness and entertainment facilities are complete. The campus is beautiful, clean and green. There are 25 laboratories and demonstration rooms, 20 practice rooms, 11 computer rooms and campus LAN. There are 45000 numerical control lathes, numerical control machining centers, all kinds of welding machines, automobile testing, simulation elevators, hydraulic devices, dynamic balancing machines, circuit fault simulation devices of machine tools, electrical intelligent platforms, steel-making and ironmaking simulation devices and other equipment for students It lays a solid foundation for mastering practical skills.

There are 42 teachers with senior titles, 93 teachers with intermediate titles, 1 senior technician, 11 technicians, 2 doctors and 18 masters. There are nearly 6000 students at all levels. Our college has four departments: Mechanical Engineering Department, electrical engineering department, metallurgical engineering department and social science department. There are eight Higher Vocational Majors in computer application, electrical automation, material engineering technology, mechanical design and manufacturing, numerical control technology, mechanical and electrical equipment maintenance and management, metallurgical technology, industrial and commercial enterprise management. The college has provided a large number of highly skilled talents for large and medium-sized state-owned enterprises and Sino foreign joint ventures.

In February 2007, in order to speed up the development of education in Jiayuguan City, shishanghe Jiuquan Iron and steel company decided to open a new site and plan to build a modern new college. The planning area of the new campus is about 45 hectares, which is divided into five parts: teaching and learning area, scientific research area, production and logistics area, sports and sports area and student activity area. It is planned to accommodate 8000-10000 students. It is divided into mechanical, electrical automation, information engineering, social science, metallurgical engineering, industry and civil architecture. In terms of planning concept, we strive to integrate the school's teaching activities and living places with the beautiful natural environment. The new campus of Gansu iron and steel vocational and technical college will start construction within this year.

Over the years, the school has always adhered to the school running tenet of "serving the enterprise and facing the society". According to the requirements of the enterprise and the post standards, the school has set up majors, opened courses, and constantly broadened the scope of running the school. In teaching, the school has strictly controlled the quality, highlighted the practice and training links, and strengthened the skill operation training.
