Henan Agricultural Vocational College is a full-time public university approved by Henan Provincial People's government and registered by the Ministry of education. The college is the vice director unit of Agricultural Vocational Education Professional Committee of China Vocational and Technical Education Association, the director unit of Henan Agricultural Vocational Education Group, the president unit of Henan Agricultural Vocational Education Research Association, and the vice president unit of Henan Vocational Education and Adult Education Research Association.

The college is located in Zhongmou County between Zheng and Bian, with convenient transportation. With the development of Zhengdong New Area and the integration of Zhengzhou and Kaifeng, the location advantage of the college has become increasingly prominent. The college covers an area of 1108 mu, with a building area of 268000 square meters. The library has a collection of 450000 books and 80 laboratories for teaching. Among them, the professional laboratories for horticulture, seed testing, tissue culture, animal anatomy, computer, accounting computerization and so on are at the leading level among similar colleges and universities in China. At present, the college has 33 Higher Vocational Majors, including Department of plant science, Department of animal science, Department of food science, Department of economy and trade, Department of electronic information engineering and Department of basic science. There are 536 faculty members, including 86 professors and associate professors, 139 master's and doctoral students, and 11600 students.

The college adheres to the service-oriented and employment oriented principle, and strengthens the cultivation of students' overall quality and comprehensive vocational ability. The rate of graduates with double certificates and multiple certificates has reached 100% in successive years. The college has carried out school enterprise cooperation with more than 50 well-known enterprises inside and outside the province to carry out order training, and more than 500 family units have become the internship and employment base for college students. Over the past 55 years, the Institute has trained 67200 qualified graduates and 120000 trainees.
