Yunnan art college is one of the seven comprehensive undergraduate art colleges in China, and is the awarding unit of master's degree. Wenhua College of Yunnan University of Arts is a university which is run by Yunnan University of Arts and social forces with non-state financial funds to implement undergraduate education. Wenhua college was established on January 24, 2002 with the approval of Yunnan Provincial Department of education. On January 18, 2004, it was officially recognized as an independent college by the Ministry of education.

Wenhua college is located in Kunming, a beautiful spring city with spring like seasons. It is located in the western suburb of Kunming (about 4km away from the college headquarters). It has an independent campus and basic school running facilities. It now covers an area of 200 mu, with a construction area of 60000 square meters. It has complete infrastructure such as teaching building, office building, laboratory, library, sports ground, student apartment, restaurant, etc. Relying on the advantages of high-quality teaching management and human resources of Yunnan Academy of Arts, Wenhua university has strengthened the construction of teachers and management team, continuously improved the monitoring and evaluation system of teaching level, and implemented relatively independent teaching organization and management. At present, there are 243 full-time teachers, and 50% of them have senior professional and technical positions above associate professor level.

Wenhua University adheres to the school running philosophy of "people-oriented, quality based, outstanding characteristics, and serving the society" and the school running tradition of "thick foundation, wide specialty, heavy ability, and innovation", and pays attention to improving the teaching quality and school running level. At present, there are 7 departments in music department, fine arts department, art design department, dance department, drama department, media art department and cultural industry art department. There are 13 majors in musicology, music performance, painting, sculpture, fine arts, art design, dance, performance, photography, recording art, animation, broadcasting and hosting art and radio and television director. Yunnan and 17 provinces (cities, autonomous regions) in China have enrolled nearly 2300 undergraduates. So far, the college has graduated for three times. At the time of enrollment, the culture and major of the student group are lower than those of other secondary colleges of Yunnan art college. After four years of careful cultivation by Wenhua college, by the time of graduation, both from the proportion of students who have obtained the graduation certificate and from the number of graduates who have been granted the degree certificate, Wenhua college is in the secondary level of Yunnan art college At the forefront of the college.

In recent years, the school has achieved fruitful results in teaching, scientific research and creation, and students have made outstanding achievements in professional learning and art practice. From 2006 to 2008, the graduates successfully held the exhibition of art and design graduates' works in the Provincial Museum, and published 4 high-quality albums of graduates' works. The exhibition of graduates' works is not only a platform to show students' learning achievements, but also a window to test the teaching quality and promote the communication between the college and the society. Last year, the academy held the "exchange exhibition of excellent modern works between China and South Korea" in Yunnan Art Museum. More than 80 artists from Korea modern art association brought rich and colorful art works. More than 50 teachers and students in our college also show their own works, which show their teaching strength and teaching level. The students' works are also more diverse and open, which can reflect the results of our focus on characteristic teaching and are well received by the society.

Teachers and students of the dance department participated in the eighth "taoli cup" national dance competition of Wenhua University of Arts Academy Award of Chinese culture and art government award, and won six first, second and third prizes. In the finals of the first Yunnan University Student Association culture and Art Festival and campus song and dance competition in 2006, our college won the honorary title of "Contribution Award". Xu Zhuyin, a student of dance department, won the champion of the dance group in the campus song and dance competition; Wang Shuo won the gold award of "Lotus star" in the fifth "Lotus Cup" dance competition; he won the second prize of performance in the new drama (Festival) of Yunnan Province in 2006; Zhang Xiangyang, a student of music department, won the silver award of vocal music ethnic group in the national new talent promotion competition and the third China Star pop music competition Ji Lina won the silver medal in the finals of the first China Youth art talent competition of 56 nationalities, Geng Wei won the gold medal in the youth professional group of the first national pop singer competition, and Zhang Lingrong won the gold medal of Yunnan Province in the instrumental music group of the third national rookie promotion activity He won the highest score on the spot, which made a great contribution to the University team's winning the first place in the group, and the students of drama department also showed up in the CCTV series.
