Shaanxi College of Posts and telecommunications is a full-time higher vocational and Technical College of communication under the leadership of China Telecom Corporation. It was founded in August 1958, formerly known as Shaanxi College of Posts and telecommunications. In 1999, it was rated as "national key technical secondary school"; in April 2004, approved by Shaanxi Provincial People's government and put on record by the Ministry of education, it was upgraded to "Shaanxi Vocational and Technical College of Posts and Telecommunications". The administrative director of the college is Shaanxi Telecom Industrial Company, and the teaching business is under the guidance of Shaanxi Provincial Department of education.

At present, the college covers an area of 180 mu, with a building area of 69079m2 and a total asset of 145 million yuan.

The college has communication department, computer department, management department, basic department, vocational education research room, sports department, library and other teaching institutions. Now we have 11 specialties, including communication technology, mobile communication technology, electronic information engineering technology, communication network and equipment, computer communication, software technology, graphics and image production, marketing and planning, e-commerce, logistics management, postal financial management and practice.

There are 102 full-time teachers, including 7 associate professors, accounting for 6.86% of the total number of full-time teachers; 51 graduate students (including students), accounting for 37% of the total number of teachers in the school; 78 part-time and external teachers, including 11 part-time teachers hired from enterprises, and the dual teacher structure has been basically formed. The total value of teaching instruments and equipment is 38.21 million yuan, the average student is 12300 yuan, 824 teaching computers, 21 multimedia classrooms and 1810 seats. There are 177700 books in the collection.

The college is an on-the-job education and training base for employees of communication enterprises in Shaanxi Province, with Shaanxi Telecom training center and communication industry vocational skills appraisal station.
