Guizhou Polytechnic College is the predecessor of Guizhou chemical engineering school, which was founded in 1958. In March 2002, it was upgraded to an independent higher vocational college with the approval of the provincial government. Its name is "Guizhou Polytechnic College of science and technology". Since its establishment, with the strong support of the provincial Party Committee, the provincial government and the departments directly under the provincial government, the college's strength has been continuously enhanced and its level of running has been continuously improved The development from single discipline to multi discipline has covered chemical engineering, biopharmaceutical, electromechanical, electrical, computer, construction, materials, water conservancy, electric power, transportation, mining, e-commerce, logistics and other fields. With the approval of the provincial government letter [2009] No. 21, the college was renamed Guizhou Industrial Vocational and Technical College on February 1, 2009.
