Xinjiang Arts Institute

Xinjiang Art College is located in Urumqi, the capital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. It is the only comprehensive higher art college with distinctive local characteristics, strong ethnic characteristics and strong professional in Northwest China. The predecessor of the college is Xinjiang art school established in 1958. In 1960, it was upgraded to Xinjiang Art Institute. In 1962, it was adjusted to Xinjiang art school. In 1987, with the approval of the former State Education Commission, Xinjiang Art College was restored. In 2002, the college passed the "undergraduate teaching randomness evaluation" of the Ministry of education. In recent years, it has shown outstanding advantages in minority dance, music, drama and art teaching, and has become the cradle of frontier art talents.
