Shanghai Institute of visual arts of Fudan University was officially established in September 2005. Approved by the Ministry of education of the people's Republic of China, Fudan University, together with Shanghai culture, radio, film and television group, Wenhui Xinmin United Press Group, Shanghai Jingwen Investment Co., Ltd., Shanghai Jingwen real estate (Group) Co., Ltd., Shanghai Shenjiao Investment Co., Ltd., Shanghai World Expo (group) Co., Ltd., China Real Estate Co., Ltd., king of Hong Kong Co., Ltd., and Shanghai Ninth City Information Co., Ltd Information Technology Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Shanda Network Development Co., Ltd. have jointly invested in the establishment of a new type of art undergraduate college with innovative system, mechanism and mode. The university is dominated by state-owned referendum (state-owned funds account for more than 90%), other social forces participate in the investment and construction, introduce the modern university system and enterprise management system, integrate the government support of public universities and the flexible school running mechanism of private universities, learn from the training mode of modern art disciplines in the world, and take "originality, artistry, practicality and foresight" as the school running concept to strive for innovation We will strive to build an applied visual arts college with creativity as the soul, art education and technology education as the characteristics, and cultural industry development and social demand as the orientation, and cultivate applied visual arts talents for cultural industry development and social demand. The school has established a teaching mode with Professor studio as the main body and complete credit system as the feature. In the first academic year, art foundation platform teaching is adopted to provide students with broad-based and cutting-edge necessary professional quality training; in the second year, according to students' potential, interest and performance, under the evaluation and guidance of teachers, the opportunity to choose a major again is provided; in the third and fourth years, the teaching is gradually transferred to professional studio, so that each student can enjoy sufficient development space. The faculty consists of full-time teachers, honorary professors at home and abroad, visiting professors and part-time teachers. The university has established an international platform for extensive exchanges and cooperation with international higher art education circles. Its members include the St. Martin School of art and design, Rhode Island School of design, the French National Academy of fine arts, the Danish School of design, the Victoria School of art, the University of Melbourne, Australia, the German School of art, the Helsinki School of art and design, Finland, the Hong Kong Academy for performing arts, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the Musashino School of art and design, Japan and other internationally renowned art institutions principal. The University actively gives full play to the resource advantages of its director units and related industries, promotes the combination of industry, teaching and R & D, creates multi-channel teaching practice and training opportunities for students, and also provides a wide range of choices for graduates' employment and entrepreneurship. The school is located in the center of Shanghai Songjiang University Park, covering an area of nearly 1000 mu, with a planned total building area of 120000 square meters. 1、 The second phase of school building construction has been completed, with teaching buildings, graphic information center, training center, sports ground, student canteen and other modern teaching and living facilities, covering a total area of more than 90000 square meters. The campus is adjacent to six universities such as Shanghai Foreign Studies University and Donghua University, and can share all kinds of teaching and living resources with Songjiang University Park, providing perfect learning and living guarantee for teachers and students. The functional departments of the university are divided into the Department of academic affairs, the Department of educational affairs, the Department of scientific research and the Department of Industrial Development (the Ministry of Continuing Education). The school has six professional colleges, including communication design college, space and industrial design college, fashion design college, fine arts college, digital media college and performing arts college, as well as international art exchange center, graphic information center and training management center. In 2008, it has reached the scale of 3000 undergraduates.
