According to the Emergency Management Bureau of Dazhou City, Sichuan Province, at about 10:30 a.m. on August 29, the largest flood peak in 2021 will transit through the main urban area of Dazhou City, Sichuan Province.
The flood in low-lying areas of the urban area rose by about 2 meters, some stores along the river flooded, and the first floor of many buildings has been completely submerged.
Staff and volunteers are also on duty to remind citizens not to stay in dangerous areas such as rivers and bridges.
At present, temporary traffic control is implemented on the roads along the river in Zhushi street, Yongfeng street and Nanmenkou, Dazhou City, and all vehicles are prohibited from entering except for rescue and special vehicles.
Meteorological data show that from 20:00 on August 27 to 07:00 on August 29, there was a regional rainstorm in Dazhou city. The accumulated rainfall of 288 stations exceeded 100 mm, including 21 stations with 150-200 mm and 7 stations with more than 200 mm. The maximum appeared in 264 mm of Wangxi, Qu county.
In terms of accumulated rainfall in urban areas, Wanyuan 89.3mm, Xuanhan 118.7mm, Dachuan 109.9mm, Kaijiang 147.8mm, Dazhu 138.2mm and Quxian 111.1mm.
At present, heavy rainfall has weakened and the Yellow rainstorm warning has been lifted.
After the flood peak passes through, the dredging work is also in progress.
